Thanks for the PM sprinterboy, too funny!
So many people in this thread will be eating their words. There really is a sentiment that people want Microsoft to crash and burn, which is really childish. If Microsoft has a feature like Backwards Compatibility, then it's a bad feature. If Microsoft has a great game service like Game Pass, then it doesn't matter. If Microsoft is lacking in the number of exclusives they have, but then go out and invest in a huge number of studios and talent(just like Sony has done over the years), n...
Good for Microsoft. This can only lead to good things for Xbox, and Phil Spencer has proved to Microsoft investors that Xbox is no longer a division that should be spun off on it's own, but a division that is going to be crucial to Microsoft's success, similar to how PlayStation has become a critical part of Sony's business.
I agree completely, as it reminds me of when Rise of the Tomb Raider was exclusive on Xbox One. If people on PlayStation wanted to play the game that bad, they should have just bought an Xbox One. People just need to stop complaining....
I disagree. I'm a fan of the series, but I don't pre-order any games, because I've learned my lesson over the years to wait and see what the final product is going to be, before spending $80.00 (Canada)on a game. It's silly to say that people are moaning, because the game has migrated over to a service that many people do not want to use, for various reasons. Would you be moaning about a game releasing on Xbox One and not on PS4, kind of like Rise of the Tomb Raider?
If you're a heterosexual male, which makes up probably more than 90% of the people who purchase these games, nobody is getting 'thirsty'.
Not true. An RTX 2060 is a near equivalent to a GTX 1080. From the leaked benchmarks and from the claims that AMD made at their press conference, Radeon VII competes directly with the RTX 2080, which is slightly more powerful than a GTX 1080TI, and even surpasses it in some cases. The only real issue, is that Radeon VII uses more power (295 Watts), which is really not going to push your electricity bill all that much in real terms, unless you're pushing your PC to the limit 24/7, which is...
This was a dirty tactic. To have pre-orders on Steam for what seemed like a year, and pull the game with 2 weeks to go, is pretty low. It almost looks like Epic was in on the planning of the timing when Koch Media would pull the game. They tried to benefit from the Steam pre-sales, and then thought they would drag everyone over to Epic, just as the game was about to launch. They have completely botched the PC release of this game, due to the blow-back they are receiving.
Go buy some crappy parts, and then you'll find out why people have preferences. Other than that, it probably wouldn't hurt to do some research on the topic.
This game will never be the next big thing. Theres absolutely nothing special about it. It's essentially Destiny with jet packs. The A.I. looks absolutely horrible also.
You don't need to comprehend anything to understand that Disney is just as bad. They are milking all if their franchises, just like Activision does with Call of Duty. George Lucas selling Star Wars to Disney was the worst thing he ever did.
Funny enough, people are in another article talking about how it's good that Death Stranding isn't coming out anytime soon, despite the fact that the game was announce at E3 2016. The same goes for Dreams, which was announced before the PS4 launched, right at the same time that Driveclub was announced, back in 2013. What is that, like a 6 year development period? Then you have TLoU2, which was announced in Dec 2016, with still no release date in sight. The hypocrisy is priceless!
It isn't really the kind of competition that benefits consumers, since you don't really have a choice on where you can buy the game. I could understand if it were being released on all platforms, but in this case you are being forced to use a service, that you may not want to use, for various reasons.
There are two issues that many people will have with purchasing games from all of those services. The first problem, is that many people don't want to give all of the companies their credit card information. Secondly, many people don't want to have to remember that many user names and passwords.
Ultimately, this is bad for both parties. It's bad for Steam because they've just lost out on another big franchise release, and this seems to be a pattern. It'...
PlayStation and Xbox also charge 30%, and yet the game is still releasing on those platforms.
Well, it's currently on my Steam wishlist, so I'm going to take this with a grain of salt for now. I have absolutely no interest in the Epic store.
Can't really go wrong with that.
The nice thing in your case, is that you have 11GB of VRAM, which should help you out quite a bit as time goes on.
Even if more games supported Ray Tracing, I don't think most people would care that much. They should have been focusing more on simple processing gains to meet the needs of future games at 4k/60. Look at games like GR:Wildlands and Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and how a 2080TI is already at its limits on ultra settings, and in the case of GR: Wildlands, with less than 60 fps.
It might be a good idea to skip the 2XXX series, and wait until the next console generation ...
If Mark cerney invents PS3 back compat, I'm all in.
