This is the only thing that I feel Steam should be doing better. Get the crap games out of the store. I wont say exactly how many items I have on my ignore list, but it is well into the thousands (5 digits).
I will not do business with a company that helps regimes like Communist China, sensor search engine results, so that the CCP can keep control of information over their citizens. Google is pure evil as far as I'm concerned. I wish there was more competition in the smart phone space, so we would ahve more than just apple and google to choose from. Too much power in the hands of so few.
No one cares that you don't care. Get a life.
Lets not forget that the game had a store page on Steam for the year leading up to release, which helped with awareness of the game. This is why Steam was so pissed off about this deal, since Metro Exodus was already being marketed to gamers on the Steam platform. It would be interesting to know what the pre-order numbers were on Steam.
The 12% cut that Epic is takiong is purely for market disruption. You can't grow a business with those kinds of low profit margins. Guaranteed they increase the cut over time, otherwise they will not improve their platform. Steam has invested huge in their platform, and it cost alot of money to develop the features that they have come out with.
PS4 exclusive on PC, gotta love it! Just to bad they're on the Epic store ;(
One of the things we'd love to see, is no exclusivity deal with the Epic store.
This is ridiculous. Oh well, looks like I'll buy on console if necessary. I will not be forced to use the Epic Store. This is like what Microsoft did with Rise of the Tomb Raider, but on steroids, when you consider the amount of games that Epic has paid for so far.
With facebook soon to follow from the looks of things...….or at least one can hope.
This was a really lame announcement, but it was what I expected from Google. Nothing to see here folks!
The numbers are still really solid, but a drop off is to be expected with stiff competition from Apex and Fortnite. On Steam the only game that has more players is DOTA2, with CS:GO in third place, but after that Rainbow Six Siege comes in at 4th, with an average peak of around 90,000 or so players on average during peak hours.
90,000 players is still excellent, and Rainbow Six Siege is still doing really well, but PUBG is still on a whole other level. The only other games...
This game has a very Quantum Break look to it, which is a good thing, since I loved Quantum Break. Control might be a huge sleeper hit.
I'll take L4D 3 and Portal 3 over HL3 any day.
The cool part is that you play through the campaigns with friends in online co-op.
If technical issues are deemed to be off topic, as I have heard they will be, then you might as well get rid of Steam user reviews. It would seem that how well a game is optimised is pretty damn important.
I would also suggest that reviews which discuss micro-transactions and anti-cheat software, should be left up for people to read. I have a real bad feeling about the way things are going down.
Steam is now going to try to stop the bleeding by going afte...
Wouldn't it be funny if the whole Take Two leak was actually an aquisition that Microsoft was involved in, and the leak itself was meant to send a message to Sony and others.... Conspiracy theory...maybe, but maybe not.
This whole Epic store situation is starting to become serious, and Steam should be manning their battles stations. This is frankly, an all out assault on the Steam Platform. I'm glad that the Master Chief Collection is exclusively on Steam and the Microsoft Store. Between Microsofts's franchises and Steams franchises, Steam should remain in a relatively strong position.
Since when did voting with your dollars become "entitlement" ? Its called capitolism. If you don't like it don't buy it, and thats exactly what I'm doing.
Not really, it's more like the developers vs gamers.
A series that I was once excited for, has been completely ignorable for the last 5 years.
