They publish it on Xbox, which is the distribution end. Another party developed it, wrote it, produced it. That party is legally protected by their labors by the Copywright Act, by US law anyway. Without it, any of us can copy anyone else’s content and publish to sell as our own property.
Sony Dan Diego gets a solid chunk for each sale on Xbox by law, as it is Sony San Diego’s property. MLB very likely, by copyright law, paid SSD/Sony Studios a chunk for it to be on Gamepass for each...
@P_Bomb, I forgot Dead Nation released on PS4 lol. A couple of the titles I mentioned are also on Vita, so not exclusive to PS3, but are now on the same boat being digital only in a closing storefront.
I thought of another title that’s digital only, in North America anyway... but did have a physical release in Europe and Asia.
