I don’t spend any money on psn (aside from ps+ subscription) as I always purchase games physically. I was given an invite last October for PSdirect and was able to grab a PS5 after refreshing the ‘sold out’ cue for a good 20 minutes until they became available again.
I’m pretty sure I was given an invite because I’ve had the same psn ID since 2007, and therefore a loyal customer worthy of an invite. If it was by $ spent on psn I would be at the bottom of the invite list.
I think we are in a transitional period where dlc is considered a micro transaction if it doesn’t include a multiplayer map pack/single player expansion.
A few years ago we started the same thing with the word “exclusive,” and now the change of how gamers perceive the words dlc and MTX.
I didn’t read the article so I can’t comment on what the micro transactions are for this game, but skins and all else under a paywall are something that should be included...
His intent was always in the right place, and then his studio flooded and he lost half of his game due to computer damages, on top of the damages to his workplace in which both the game and his studio needed to be rebuilt. He went through a lot, and tried his best to deliver past what he had lost through a natural disaster and fulfill his promises and vision for launch to the players.
He is also a socially awkward person and has a hard time speaking and doing interviews, but really ...
Microsoft made the software for the Sega consoles, so that purchase could be inevitable due to past partnerships. I have a hard time believing any other Japanese publisher would sell to Microsoft. Nintendo, Sega (Consoles), and Sony have been Japans video entertainment historically, and those developers/publishers have regularly produced games exclusively for those consoles, skipping Xbox. The Xbox does very poorly in Japan, and has been a nation that purchases Nintendo and PlayStation conso...
Bungie was never bought by Activision though. They had a publishing deal with them
Immature in journalism making a headline for clicks, yea I’d agree. It is also the authors opinion piece that others might like to read of games yet to be released
Couldn’t have said it better myself. But I can see MS making a Stadia like box next gen for streaming and digital only before leaving the console market entirely.
A lot of conversation too is that it starts Nintendo and Sony with acquiring the big Japanese publishers, and years from now there’s few publishers left and far less creativity and unforseeable consequences of an industry like that
@orchard. I’ve been a console gamer my whole life (except the early 90s), PC for me became a confusion and I adopted consoles.
“PC games are more stable than ever with higher quality ports and easier setup and diagnoses of system level issues.”
The exact point I play on consoles. Every little issue was basically a large scale issue I’d have in the 90s I couldn’t resolve myself. And if I adopted PC now, I’d have to research each issue and optimize, hang ba...
@Cosmicturtle It was Dishonored I was thinking of, not Theif! Thanks for the correction. I remember the two looking the same and blended them as such. Replace “Theif” for “Dishonored” in my original comment
Haven’t played Deathloop so I can’t chime in on the game itself, but I remember when Theif released from the same studio it was also a mixed reaction between reviewers and gamers. Haven’t played Theif either but I do have a copy in my physical collection to play if I so please
That would make it made by Bethesda, not Microsoft
It’s a crime nobody has made one
Back in the ps3 era Splitfish was making a bunch of controllers for accessibility. Don’t know if they are still around but they sponsored my KZ2 team
Sounds like they do what XDEV already does for PS. Kind of a weird acquisition
Killzone 2. Sorry you skipped
Scrolled through the article first sentence, last sentence of each paragraph, well not literally but it was a skim. I lost this author when he started comparing it to other games. Kept reading but I’m at odds with him.
How can one compare a setting from WWI with another game in another setting that has been replicated numerous times over and over again?
BF1 is a WW1 setting game. There isn’t exactly a game comparison for the technology and combat. The game takes place a cen...
I think his games stand out because they are very different from the status quo in gameplay and storytelling of the typical ‘games’. They are interactive stories that requires brain space to process, like reading a book but in video game form. Platinumed Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls on PS3, haven’t played Detroit: Become Human yet, but have it on PS+.
Cage has a very unique art style to his games. What I played from his previous two titles I found they are very engaging and gear...
They don’t care how many people purchased the game. Anyone’s guess how many, but they do like to release how many players play/tried the game. Not trying to be a Debbie downer, but does it really matter to anyone if they don’t release how many actually put their money on the game? Does it make a difference to you if you know or not? Like you I am curious myself to how many actually bought it, but at the end of the day it makes no difference to know if not. I doubt they would say unless it’s a...
I bought Heat 4 a couple months after it came out as my first NASCAR game since N’07. Got my platinum trophy in the game. It wasn’t bad by any means, and at the time they were adding seasonal DLC to it but I didn’t purchase anything that wasn’t a free add on. Online community was great too, given everyone was hyper competitive, lots of swearing at each other, and actually raced with a couple people who are a member of a NASCAR pit crew.
There was also the occasional person...
