To be honest, similar things were said when BF3 was about to be released that it's going to give CoD a run for its money. That didn't happen. Nothing can kill CoD but CoD alone and it seems CoD is killing itself. Rock Band didn't kill GH, GH dug up the grave they're lying peacefully in.
I would play this. It could also sell a few more Vitas.
Not only it's inferior to the PS3 version, the framerate and performance issues are abundant in the first game. The game is noticeably buggier as well. Big whoopee about lower resolutions and less graphical fidelity. It's a shoddy port in the most important parts.
You left out many genres console didn't have, or genres that console tried but failed and we had RTS, sandbox games, simulators, MMOs, etc. We also have substantial online play even from back in the 56k days, mod support (in which consoles don't enjoy), and an emulated backlog of the majority of video game history. Shooters consolites play today were born on PC or heavily inspired by franchises born on PC.
Consoles are becoming more like PCs every generational leap. H...
That is just like saying how the Ferrari is influenced by the common low budget car. Consoles are getting closer to PC every generational leap, and this new generation adopted a modified version of its processing architecture.
It's nothing to do with licking company balls, it's all in the product. I am a huge Nintendo fan and still didn't buy a Wii U. I am not a fan of MS but love my 360.
Looks hugely improved it almost looks like a completely new game. I'll definitely be getting a Wii U for sure!
The ball is in Nintendo's park for attracting both consumers and developers onto their platform. We are approaching the end of its first fiscal year and there still hasn't been many worthwhile games that are not ports...thus no substantial sales and no strong third party support.
Someone has to make the first move, and that "someone" might be the first party responsible for the platform.
Wait...what? Apple? I love me some Apple but they are one of the last companies I could imagine competing with MS and Sony, let alone dominate the living room.
Criticism is a part of creating a piece of art you want an audience to consume. A video game shouldn't be any different.
MS will have a very difficult time recovering from their mess. If this thing won't sell more than a couple million (not including pre-order/launch sales) within the first two fiscal years they might as well take the Windows Vista approach and scrap the One, in it's place comes Xbox 4 and become the first 9th gen system. Then again that would be bad for PS4 and Wii U as they would become obsolete prematurely.
MS will also sell their games on the Marketplace. You can just buy your games off there. Physical disks are here to stay but they are much less required nowadays.
I am definitely buying it, as I always wanted the console but the DRM/anti-used games stopped me from pre-ordering it. However I will wait until 2014 for it and stick to my PS4.
After hearing this news, I think I am buying an XOne. I am happy I can play my Halo, Forza and Gears games, some of my favorite franchises, without worrying about DRM.
I am happy with my S model Xbox360 then.
3% is a lot, that would be over 2 million PS3's.
Doesn't PS3 have a recovery menu that enable you to re-install failed updates?
I sure do and own a 2600, a 5200 and a 7800. I am a young gamer that admires history of my favorite hobby.
I personally like the PS4 design. Hated it at first but really grew on me. At first I thought the original PS3 looked like a refrigerator when standing up.
Oh, now gamers are wanting an always online console. What fickle-minded consumer demographic we are.
