I traded in Bad Company After completing it to get Far Cry 2, What a foolish mistake, after reading some amazing reviews of Far Cry 2, and based on my experience of the original I thought it was going to wipe for floor with Bad Company! That's the biggest mistake I've made this year!
Lets forget about who's fault it is, because the fact is it's probably a number of significant factors which ad up to this... PS3 smaller install base, UBI - forcing the game to release before it was ready, lack of advertising, not going multiplat, and the fact it was distinctly average at best, state of UK economy, plus many more hidden factors we don't know about.

I have personally not bought a 360 due to principles, I won't support any company who put out a shoddy product! despite how awesome some of the exclusive games are (I loved playing Crackdown, I think it's the most under-rated exclusive this generation)

When i use to be a PC gamer I had a half decent PC which could handle most games at decent graphics settings / resolutions. But I was always turning them down to get the best performance!

If MS were to use HD DVD or something similar instead of Blu Ray then it might help them fight piracy. Pirate Blu Rays films have already appeared, In 5 years time Blu Ray Writers will be common ground, someone will chip the PS3 or PS4, ISO files will appear on Bit Torrent websites and piracy could become a problem.
If the next xbox uses a HD-DVD drive or something similar, HD-DVD Writers would be very uncommon seeing as HD-DVD won't be the main stream medium for optical storage,...

I hate the arguement about the 10 year life span, stating crap like the Xbox 3 will be out then and blow them away.
Do they not realise that the PS2 is heading towards it's 10th year! I dare say Sony will release a new console before 2015, but the fact is they plan to surport the PS3 for a whole 10 years, regardless of when the PS4 is released. It's all about common sense really.

Netflix doesn't compete with Blu Ray directly, Netflix is more in competition with blockbuster and Video Rental Stores! if you want to rent Netflix is a great option, but if you are a collector and want to own then Blu Ray is the option for you.
