I couldn't of put it better myself!
It's Resident Evil NOT a third person shooter!
I do admit I think the controls could of been tweaked and refined better, but in no way do I want this game to play like Gears of War or any other generic shooter!
The controls have a learning curve, I learnt them when I played RE4 and I remembered them playing RE5 demo, and I am sure I am going to love this game when i get it.
As a PS3 owner, I have to agree 100% with you, The 360 version looks better.
It doesn't really matter though, it's going to be a great game anyway, RE4 was amazing, and I still play that a million times over regardless of there being 'better' looking games out now.
Kudos to 360 you won this battle, but who really cares?
lol,
I like the disagrees
is it because I said it doesn't matter which version of RE5 looks better, or was it because I said not everyone is getting Killzone2
Bare in mind that I never said I wouldn't be getting Killzone 2! as I personally will definitely be getting it, I just mean that it isn't a game for everybody! not everybody wants another FPS.
I agree it doesn't matter which one looks better!
But I disagree that everyone is getting Killzone!
so which button do I press?
The Dreamcast Didn't fail! we failed the Dreamcast!
I still dream of a Dreamcast 2 launching with Shenmue 3, a new crazy Taxi and an awesome 2D sonic game, that would make me cream my pants!
It was always going to peak at some point, and helped by the current financial situation it might be about to happen.
My own personal preference would be for Nintendo to now go the way of Sega and become a software company, then I could play Zelda, Mario Galaxy & Mario Kart without the embarrassment of owning a wii! and they would be proper shinny current gen versions. obviously this will never happen because the console itself has raked in the money for Nintendo!

I think this writer has got it all wrong!
Sequels on the whole are fantastic! what the writer has failed to notice is the difference between Sequels and Franchises.
Franchises often have yearly updates, like Tomb Raider, FIFA, Call of Duty etc etc
Sequels are plot driven like Half Life, Halo, Resistance, Gears etc
and on the whole Sequels are multiple times better than yearly updates of franchises! This obviously isn't true in all cases (COD...
A sequel could definitely be original in it's own right. The only problem is developers and publishers often regard sequels as an easy money grabber. So they don't like to take too many risks... Skate 1 to Skate 2?
It's a difficult situation though and I don't completely disagree with sequels, because at the end of the day these developers need these money grabbing big selling sequels to be able to fund new IP's, we never would of had Dead Space if EA had gone under by not cashi...
There are lots of different games which are set in the Mario universe but it doesn't make them sequels, A prime example of this is Paper Mario to the Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy games, They are completely different games just set in the same universe involving the same characters. But Mario Galaxy on Wii was not a sequel to Paper Mario on Wii, Nor would you consider Mario Kart 64 a sequel to Super Mario 64
For me I call a sequel a continuation in the plot. Resistance 1 to Resistance...
I haven't completed Bioshock yet (I know I'm a sinner!) but so far I have to agree with you. I've played far better games than Bioshock - Half Life 2 for example I thought was epic.
not that Bioshock was bad, I just think it's either overrated, or just not for me. I still enjoyed it though.
Agreed,
It's not a case of sequels are bad! some sequels such as the one you've mentioned are great.
The problem lies when we get sequels to games we don't want, and they sell because idiots buy them, and then they make another sequel...
Need for Speed anyone?
This year, Bioshock 2 will be awesome, so will Final Fantasy (if it's this year) and Gran Turismo 5 (if it's this year again) along with some other great sequels, and hopefully a few g...
I disagree with your statement because I do not believe almost every game can be consider a sequel "other than the obvious sequels"
Uncharted is not like tomb raider, and Saints Row is not a GTA game. It can be said that these games are inspired from the concepts of the said games, but they are significantly different in there own way.
I see where you are coming from, but I disagree because based on what you said, every game would be a sequel unless it some...
I know you are all being sarcastic, but I'm actually curious what EDGE give this game! see if they give it a respectable score, or another 6 out of 10!
Not that i'm going to base my purchase on EDGE's review!
I love the irony of your comment "I know I shouldn't judge games by their demos"
Did I miss the point of a Demo? or Demonstration?
anyway I understand your point, if you didn't like RE4 and thought the series died there, then fair enough you aint going to like RE5
What I don't understand are the people who loved RE4 and are saying RE5 is terrible, as if it's the worst game released in years!
My opinion of the demo was that it hasn...
This game is a few months off release yet so how the hell are they reviewing it?
I know the game is probably like 98% complete with just some fine tuning and polishing being done here and there, but this review is so early I question what it is based on?
I agree with what you say overall, however...
I feel it is too late in the day for RE5 to have a shoot and move control scheme introduced as the whole game has been built around the restrictions of stop and shoot. throwing movement into the equation will thrown off the difficulty and balance of the games battles.
It's not impossible, but they should of sorted the controls out at the beginning of production and then built the game around the restrictions of the new co...
I am a huge fan of RE4 I still occasionally get the urge to play it from start to finish again!
I have to say I was slightly disappointed with RE5, it just wasn't as significant improvement over 4, however 4 was awesome so that still makes 5 an awesome game in my opinion! it just could of been so much more.
on another point, walking & shooting I don't think will be added at this late stage as it will seriously effect the difficulty factor and balance of the game....
It's not a briefcase in the same style as RE4 as in you have 9 slots (I think) and every item takes up 1 slot, be it a shot gun or grenade! and once a slot is defined to hold grenades it can hold more than one grenades of it's type, you don't need an empty slot for every single individual grenade.
Bring back my Tetris style briefcase!
Just because the wii version will have inferior graphics does not mean the game will be inferior in any other way!
Some developers have shown the wii is capable of respectable graphics, COD5 looked pretty damn good for wii.
You never know the gameplay might even turn out better!
I'm not a wii fanboy or anything, I own Dead Space on PS3, but I just find it funny how people are putting this game down so early! Just because other companies have made poor wi...
