That's why there are two versions, so if you prefer UMD or no UMD you can choose! The Go was made because everyone was complaining about UMDs. I personally prefer no UMD.
PSP 3k = $179
16 Gig Pro Duo = $60-100 in retail stores.
So you're only saving $10 at the most. This article is ridiculous anyway, because it's just a small minority complaining. The Go is going to do just fine because there are tons of people who want them on the forums.

Edge will probably continue their tradition however. Also Gamespot is another major one yet to review it, I'd bet on a 9.5/10 from them. I just don't see them giving it a 10.
