Really? Socom 2 has a low 80s score on Meta and generally got fair reviews to average. This seems to keep the tradition of Socom games.
PS3 has just as good of games as PS1/PS2 did in the same timeframe. When all is said and done it'll probably have the same amount of great games as those older consoles.
What made PS1 and PS2 #1 was very very weak competition. The Saturn was supposed to be a 32bit 2D platform but when they saw that PS was going to be 3D they tacked on a 3D processor. I agree but I don't see how knowing what they are going to announce makes their E3 not as exciting. They have the same amount of awesome games regardless.

You do realize how long it took Nintendo to get any decent games right? Heck in 2008 Nintendo was a wasteland for anything decent. They had one good game that year and that was Brawl.

I swear people just buy these games simply because everyone else is going to. I don't see how it's so popular. It's not a bad game, it does what it does very well, but there are better.
Dude have you played Unleashed or Colors? It's freaking fast in 3D, so fast that everything just blurs by. I'd say too fast.
Btw, Sonic wasn't always about just speed. Even on the 16 bit games there were many places where you had to slow down and actually platform. Labyrinth Zone on Sonic 1 was one level which was very slow paced.

^What are you talking about? The series has only gotten better with recent titles... The PSP Syphon Filters are among the best games for the PSP and have won many PSP GOTY awards.
For having owned both and beaten both I'd say that they are excellent!
They weren't working on other games at the same time as Uncharted 2? Insomniac are working on another FULL game, not some small DLC/PSN title, as well as likely already starting on the EA multiplatform game.
R3 is also in its final stages of production which means they are ramping up work and need all the resources they can get to finish it on time.
I tend to find that people complain when they think irrationally and don't know what they are talking ...
