Yeah, fuck your friends! If YOU are unhappy paying for playing online, then simply don't. Personally, if I had to base my gaming habits on what my friends do, I wouldn't be enjoying myself very much.
I'm all for supporting the developers, but with the more fees appearing this generation (online entitlements and DLC), there needs to come a compromise that benefits not only the developer but also the consumer. To begin, this $59.99 for most new games is absolute bullshit, a high premium (that could increase further next generation if some publishers have their way) which encourages people to depend on a used game market. DLC is also another possible cause for players depending on a us...
Bear in mind, I've never needed to redeem an Online Pass, so this is an assumption:
I believe this one-time-use Online Pass would be tied to your PSN account, so if you sold the game and picked it up again later used you would be covered. I may be mistaken, but I thought I had heard the EA Online Pass was tied to your PSN, but also worked on a one system at a time freedom allowing other people using your console with a different PSN ID ability to play online. Don't ...
I fall into your category as well. I buy games new (sometimes at release, other times months later at discount) to ensure I have pristine copies and control over how dirty and scratched they get. Unfortunately, both Slim 120GBs I've had (and those of a friend as well) tend to grind the edge of the disc on the top part, which really pisses me off as an anal retentive collector.
This "online entitlement" practice makes sense, as long as it is reasonably priced t...
Modnation Racers PSP also sells "online entitlement."
Nice Tom Waits avatar! I'd have given you a bubble if your comment wasn't such slanted bait.
Backwards compatability should return to the PS3 via software emulation, just as Sony should recognize the demand for purchasing PS2 classics from the PS Store instead of waiting for developers to work on HD collections (though I will still most likely purchase these enhanced versions just as I did GOW and shall with Sly).
Is this a sign PS2 Classics are coming to the PS Store? I don't think so. Most likely this, as well as the XBLA version, would be slightly reprogramm...
My God, the lag! Control is limited to just registering arm movements for aiming and firing and it still struggles with accuracy and lag. Of course, there's still development time to fix that. What I've seen from Kinect so far is nothing but on-rails games like Forza Kinect, JoyRide, Child of Eden, Kinect Adventures, Sonic Riders, this Harry Potter mode, that terrible Star Wars game, and fitness/dance games. Where's the variety?
Edit: Forgot Kinectimals and th...
God of War III has an online mode? o.O
Ideally, Sony should work together with Valve to find a way of bringing a Steam type of network for community features, updates and gaming. Maybe even have a partnership with Google for web browsing as well. Sony has done an amazing job getting PSN to where it is today, while keeping it a free service, but would getting professional help from Valve and Google be better in the long run, financially as well as feature support and expansion?
Interactive cutscenes providing the entire story of the first, with the same amount of possibilities, would be nice, but still wouldn't compensate for losing out on a great game. I'm considering borrowing a family member's laptop and buying the PC version on the cheap to experience the full beginning before I play ME2. I'm a bit disappointed there wasn't a way to include the first game remastered as part of the ME2 PS3 launch.
I thought the same thing. LOL
Luffy?
Wow, some people are so uber-sensitive they cannot take an obvious joke. Internet white knights for the loss!
It isn't like Quagmire or I even support the abuse of man, woman or beast, we just enjoy our dark comedy.
@OneSneakyMofo
LOL - Careful, that's the comment which got Quagmire in trouble.
I played FFXI on the PC, PS2, PS3 and XBOX 360. They very damn well can co-exist with PC versions. In fact, I found the console version to be much easier than the PC.
While this may not matter to YOU in your enclosed universe, it may matter to some of the 360 gamers. Microsoft needs to become an open platform for the sake of their gamers.
Also, an extra note, if Tanaka's comments on the PS3 beta being postponed due to the RAM intensive development of this game, how the HELL do they expect it to work easily on the 360 as well?
Luuuuuuucky! Just remember, it's good to let her win every once in awhile. :P
you don't get between a man and his PlayStation (or food, or football). lol
would want to support Rebellion after the Alien Vs. Predator console fiasco?
Eh...I'm pretty sure PSN is free-to-play, as is PC gaming. Unless I'm mistaken, and all the barking in my ears from PC gamer friends is nonsense, Steam is a free, reliable, feature-rich service. dchalfont would know better than I do.
