I admit, when I first heard Mercury Steam was doing Castlevania: LoS, I cringed. However, the trailer from E3 gave me hope for the project, especially with Kojima's semi-supervisory role. While the gameplay does remind me of God of War, it looks much better in terms of gameplay than the previous 3D disappointments. I will be keeping this on my radar.

The brightness of some themes and wallpapers made it difficult to read the light colored text. As for your suggestion of adding trophy count to the blank part of the boxes, I thought I had once read that was going to be part of the new friend list, a feature that I believe would make the new friend list shine. I hope Sony will have the good sense to allow us to use Home avatars as our profile avatar as well.
Yeah, I was disappointed with the way the new friend list looks too. At least this way, it makes the light text easier to see when you have a very light/bright wallpaper or theme.

This struck me as odd and I hope someone else can confirm if it happened to them: I dowloaded the update quickly, slow install like #3 said. After the install, my slim reset completely, went to another screen that said "Updating database." After this I went to the new XMB...and I cannot sign into PSN.

My 80GB MotorStorm received the YLOD. It was a rather loud and heat intensive unit. I sold it on eBay and saved up for the "slim" and I must say I love it. Smaller, lighter, cooler and whisper-quiet. This game is a blatant rip-off of God of War from the HUD, QTE and the gameplay. They even took the idea of controlling the larger creatures as tanks (i.e. Kratos riding and manipulating a cyclops). However, I find the art direction, especially for the hero, to be found wanting. Still, I will more than likely buy this as well as Dead Space, not for their originality, but their solid gameplay.

Are Xbox fanboys incredibly stupid? I don't condone fanboyism, but it seems most PlayStation fanboys at least add intelligence and wit to their bashing; 360 fanboys sound as though their minds haven't progressed beyond pre-pubescence and make themselves look quite pitiable. I'm surprised they know how to turn their computers on, much less use a keyboard and mouse to find this website. I suppose their caretakers do it for them. lol

I bought the slim after my 80GB with backward compatability received a YLOD late July. While I agree the 60 and 80 GBs are better, I like the slim more due to its design and the fact it's mostly whisper silent and doesn't heat up my room like a low-end heater (my 80GB was loud and HOT, even though I have a big, open-back shelf dedicated to the system alone and constantly kept it dust free).
