Uh... the guy in the article was talking about completely rushing through the game. When doing this, SMB can be beaten in like 20 minutes, SMB3 can be beaten in like 20 minutes, and SMW can be beaten in like 15 minutes. I think 6 hours long is STILL a bit of an exaggeration for how long the main game will take if you rush through it, though. But even still, SMB3 probably takes only a couple of hours if you play through the entire game.

I agree with the idea of the article. I don't have time to read it now, but I believe I'd agree with most of the arguments too. All 3 consoles this gen suck compared to past gens.

That's sad.

I didn't read the whole review, but the author of the review also doesn't have the best grasp of the English language, haha. I read only a few sentences and noticed a mistake.

^cared enough to click the article (and respond!)

Well that's good for you, then. Because I can't remember a single instance I had fun while playing that game. However, I loved Ocarina, Link's Awakening, Wind Waker, Link to the Past, Majora's Mask, Oracle of Ages, and Oracle of Seasons.

And then years later, the man started questioning if video games were too hard (they weren't), and started dumbing them down for everyone.

I agree with tunaks completely. But only because of that ridiculous "HD = game is automatically good" comment mikeslemonade made.

Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass were indeed boring. I hope the next console Zelda game is good, because the next handheld is gonna be just gonna be Phantom Hourglass 2. Color me bored.

Michael Pacther: Professional guesstimator.

I doubt we'll see the next Nintendo console til 2012. Maybe late 2011, but even that'd doubtful. End of 2010? Hah, no way.

So... Uncharted 2 getting 50k in first week sales is fantastic, but Muramasa getting 25k in first week sales is abysmal?

what how does that even make sense i dont even

Actually, it's the 360 and the PS3 that are being left in the dust. It's too little, too late. The 360 has the biggest advantage in the sense that at least it's somewhat different. It really doesn't seem practical for making games, though.

@The second ad:

Yeah, Apple might be rated #1 in customer satisfaction, but it really isn't hard to satisfy a bunch of idiots.

Those are great commercials, as always, but... they're still makes. What kind of self-respecting person would want a mac? They're over-priced, and only hipsters, trend-followers, and fine arts students/workers would really have a need for them.

35k is good considering that it's only the first week sales of a new IP in only the Americas. And considering that (according to VGChartz), Odin Sphere only sold like 320,000(~), and that was on the PS2. It's a new, niche game, and it's performing roughly as well as its spiritual successor did, though the Wii has an install base of roughly half that of the PS2.

Of course its sales aren't going to be comparable to Mario. That's just ridiculous.

"In the end, Edmund (developer), learned a valuable lesson from his niece: make the game less frustrating. I think we can all agree with that one. Nobody likes a frustrating game after all…"

Goddamn casuals. Go play your easy regenerating health games, or your mini-games. Super Meat Boy is made for REAL gamers. Gamers who actually enjoy challenge, and not just games who spoon-feed you. I, for one, look forward to Super Meat Boy kicking my ass.

That's kind of crumby. But, uh, do Wii gamers really want to play a DS game on their Wii?

6077d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Just like with Muramasa. I bet XSeed's games didn't sell well enough, while Muramasa did. If so, that's a bit sad :(

Yeah. Poor Microsoft. They were a very small, independent company when their first product, the Xbox launched. They lost almost all of their investments in Xbox and the 360. I think Microsoft is done for.

(For the slow, this is an example of sarcasm)

I agree, but it would've been the PS3 or 360 this gen if they took top place, too. Gaming's just not as at was during the NES, SNES, 64/PS, and GC/PS2 days.

Also, I play my Wii all the time. But that's because I actually pay attention to good titles coming out, and not just the titles that get the most hype (and then usually either belly flop or turn out mediocre).
