Its not about looks, its about unsprung weight. unsprung weight significantly affects the handling of a car, especially when the car goes over bumps and curbs. Its part of the reason racing cars have ridiculously light wheels and why high end manufacturers use forged wheels which reduce the unsprung mass the car has to use.
Will there be a way to adjust the weight of the rim without changing the rim on the standard cars? I'll settle for that.

Its going around the web that brake upgrades and brake tuning is out. Which i think is crazy. That's a basic tuning option that is pretty much almost every racing game. When you have a car going 200 mph, you need the front brake bias cause of the weight shift. And when you're not using ABS, you need that brake pressure balance so you can get your comfortable bite spot. This is crazy.

I think that kart issue is a pretty big deal. Will suck if they don't patch that day one and kart rooms online turn into reverse-fests.
But this is one of those glitches you will never pick up in testing though, i mean, who would think of driving a kart in reverse in a race. Whata re you talking about, i always have a map floating in the right corner of my winshield and a dial indicating pedal travel floating in front of my dashboard. All cars come with that nowadays. lol

It would suck if it can't be turned off. I do not turn off the entire HUD, but i just leave the basics
1. Rev counter (i have bad eyes, i can't see the one on the dash too good. i need a big one on the screen, lol)

3. Lap counter and time indicator

I mean, I HATE RPG's, but i don't call people who play them stupid, or retarded, or wasting their money on a crap game that has random battles where you take tuns to hit each other over the head then stand there and let them hit you. That R8 looks a little low poly. The grill and everything looks a lot less impressive than the shots i have seen before. That is obviously a lower detail model. This may be from a closed online game. Just cause its locked for ign and Co. doesn't mean there isn't a closed server for other people closer to sony.
Just realised. During the rain, premium car guys (like me, the Ferrari whore that i am) will have to put up with rain hitting the windscreen leaving streaks and wipers and so on, whereas standard car guys will have an unobstructed view from their bumper cam.
When a premium car gets damaged and the bonnet is crumpled up obstructing the view, the damaged standard car guys will not have any problem cause again they are in bumper cam.

The pics with the R8 in the rain seem....less than impressive. That track on the hole probably isn't the nicest track in the game either, seems kinda rough. Other tracks like the ring look better than this one.
Maybe the online part of the game uses lower detail models to prevent lag.
Which is OK with me, no point looking at a slideshow of amazing cars when playing online, lol.
