And I actually consider GTA a PS exclusive cause really, consoles don't compete with the PC. IMO opinion anyway.

I think the issue is the whole non-uniformity of it. Sometimes you can get lost and think its good, but other times, like having a standard car go round laguna, and its just not the same.
I hope GT6 is a more uniform product with all tracks and cars to the same standard.
To me, SP gaming is dead. I just don't get any satisfaction from it anymore. The computer is so predictable and emotionless when you beat them. When i beat it badly i want it to get frustrated and angry. i'm the type of guy that likes to gloat. When i beat someone, whether video game, real sport or poker, I have to trash talk. All in fun of course :)
I mean, if I had to choose one movie that i KNOW was going to make GREAT game, which would i choose? Well obviously rambo....but AFTER that....... James Bond.
I mean, C'MON, how hard is it to make a james bond game not good. I think developers have been putting a LOT of effort into messing these games up over the years. Its james bond. Sneaky spy, cool gadgets, car chases, undercover work.......you telling me you can't find a way to mix that up into a good game? Sad....
Agreed, I thoroughly enjoyed GTA4. And i've played all the 3d GTA's except the ones on PSP. After playing 4 its hard to go back to the others. And not cause of the graphics alone, but because of things like dying when you fall in water, the animations, the stiff control scheme. Still great games though. I just wish they put in more side missions. Like the police and the fire truck and the ambulance and the motorcycle stunt arena and the gambling. They should bring all that stuff back ...

To be fair, the PS3 only has one exclusive that sells very very well. Gran Turismo. They lost FF and GTA, the perennial super sellers. And lets be honest. Uncharted, Resistance, Killzone, Demon's Souls's....all great games....but mega sellers? No. As far as i see it, Gran Turismo is the only 5 million+ selling franchise on the PS3. The 360 isn't much better, only 2 360 exclusive games have sold past 5 mill. The Wii...well it prints money, lol. I won't buy one for the same reas...
The same reason i don't care that NASCAR is in GT5. Its a pointless inclusion. Who the hell outside of the US cars about any stinking go round in a circle and not turn right NASCAR?

Not bad. As far as new IP's go, its right behind halo, GTA and Gears then. Can't think of any other games that sold more in just two iterations.

Never moved. sat there waiting......waiting....Its the stupidest thing i ever heard. War is about capturing ground and making your enemy fall back till they surrender. Not about sitting the corner of a room. You won't win a war like that.

They were doing the same in 2000/ 2001 with the dot come bubble having the NASDAQ fall from above 5000 to below 2000, the DOW lost ridiculius points as well, and of course 9/11. and guess what happened the big american big mac of a console against the japanese super happy fun PS2....the PS2 destroyed it on scale not seen before.

How can games like GOW and Heavy rain be addictive? they are single player experiences.
I think addictive means it give you that "Just one more game" feeling. Gran Turismo yes. Especially if theres that one guy that beats you by half a second three times in a row and keeps trash talking. You just want to hand it to him, lol.
I personally do not find beating the computer fun. The computer does not show emotion. You can beat it by 100 points or one,...
Black ops is like crack. I tell myself, "ok, one more game and i'm done". of course that turns into 6, lol.
FIFA is another one. many a night have i spent over 3 hours straight playing that game.
I guess any game can be addictive, it depends what you like. Some people are addicted RPG's, but I find them boring as hell.
A bit of a stretch to call Last Guardian, KZ3, Resistance, Infamous 2 as console movers isn't it? Ico didn't sell well and this game is similar artsy stuff and we have seen this gen that people run out and buy consoles for games with guns, not pubescent boys and griffins, KZ2 didn't move consoles, resistance 2 actually sold less than resistance 1 and didn't move consoles and infamous didn't move consoles. Just realised. The PS3 is around for over 4 years and still nothing past the ten million mark? On the PS2 the GTA games flew past ten million in about two years. It seems there aren't any exclusives with that kind of mass appeal on the playstation anymore. Lots of niche 2-3 million games, but nothing really to appeal to the masses. The only PS3 exclusive i can see going past ten million is MAYBE GT5, i'm not all too certain.

To be put in perspective, Halo 3 sold 5 mill in a week to a lower installed base, and i think we can safely say GT is a bigger franchise, or at least that was true up to GT4, whether it still is i don't know. I don't think anyone would have foreseen a halo game selling more than a gran turismo game EV...
