I believe SMG2 got a very good score. Japanese IP.
And both of those IP's are out for OVER A DECADE now
wow....imagine gran tursimo is already that old. time flies.
OUCH. That suzuki hurt my eyes.
but really this is ridiculous

Premium cars look good but the gap between the best looking and the worst looking is like the pacific. BTW, why does Laguna look like that? The real track isn't like tha...
That would developers can now feel free to make a game with some stuff they focused on and 80% just stuff they throw in from last gen. Not only that, but also have 80% of the content in their game have different qualities in terms not only graphically, but in terms of what it can do. Why can only 20% of the cars be allowed to reduce unsprung weight, which is a major handling advantage? Surely upgrades should be available to all cars equally. Not to mention that the multiplayer just isn't ...
I buy every other fifa. I've bough fifa 2005, 07, 09, and 11.
I think the fifa franchise is now at the point where not much gameplay can realistically be changed. Just prettier graphics and rosters.
I do think sport games have probably the highest development margins outside of pokemon games and just dance.
@SasanovaS1987
If not for the grass, the crowd, the weird shadows that seem to shimmer for no reason, and the overall "gamey" look of it.....yeah, i could totally think so.
Good looking game though
Its the same way they nitpicked forza for not having a shifting animation, or not having spa, or not having support for the G25, even though you could use the fanatech.
Nitpicking is gonna happen, no matter what the game.
I happen to like running and gunning. I direct you to elpresador's youtube channel.
Slow paced to me means turn the corner and get killed by some idiot camping and playing the game slow, getting into his spot in the corner and waiting for people to run across his screen. Not fun for me, i like to be Rambo.
Only time i play slow paced is in realistic tactical shooters like Ghost Recon (this new one with that invisibility crap, not sure i will get that th...
Sorry, but i have to call BS on this one. the excuse about not wanting to turn away amateurs is dumb. Every other game, sims included, just make damage an option. If you are a beginner and you find yourself wrecking, just turn it off. The same way that if you find handling the cars with no TCS is too hard, just flip the TCS on.
They can't realistically argue that damage point without adressing the fact that assists can be turned on and off, even on cars that DO NOT HAVE T...
How can you compare the two reviews? Standards have changed since Forza 3 came out. A game that got a ten in graphics would not get a ten today.
But realistically, its not just IGN, its other review sites as well that have contributed to its lower metacritic rating.
So i guess we can say they are ALL wrong and the only people to believe are PS3 fanboys.....
At the end of the day, a review is just an opinion of a guy, just like you and me. T...
could it be some ps3 owners (like me) do not care for MAG or killzone, and instead rather play COD. Its called having a brain and an opinion of your own. not everyone likes the same things. I cant stand killzone or MAG. I'm having fun with black ops, especially with my Power A controller cause i cant stand the DS3 either. I do like the free online though :)
Why dp PS3 fanboys like to tell other people what to like? The game runs JUST FINE on the ps3. i have no issues at ...
I think you meant to say all of a sudden sales are important. With Killzone Vs Halo, its "sales aren't important, its quality."
Now with GT5 its "GT5 will sell more than forza in one month"
As someone said, we don't get anything if GT5 sells 5, 10 or 15 million...unless you own stock of course.
Once a game sells around 2.5 million I'm happy, cause I consider that the minimum to have a really robust long lasting...
Pretty Good Sales. That's about the fifth best debut of this gen after MW2, Black Ops, Reach and halo 3. I think all those games did above 2 million on just one platform in 2 days.
Fifth best is nothing to scoff at. Will be interesting to see if it has legs like Mario Kart
LOL, halo still hasn't crossed a million in Egypt. I think that's a failure, lol.
good job comparing sales in one region to world wide sales. Good stuff.
But anyway, its a good game, some like it, some don't. That's normal. No game has been universally loved since.......maybe Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES.
I have a PS3, i have black ops. the game looks good, only time i had lag was when my connection was acting up that day (as it sometimes does), the game doesn't freeze, there are no frame rate issues (i only play MP really, but in my 30 mins or so in SP there weren't any), and i never have trouble finding a game, be it zombies, core, hardcore, anything. And i've only been dropped once n about 100 matches. And that is comparable to how much i was dropped on MW2 on 360.
Actually i was complaining about the lack of attention to detail. Why are the safety barriers missing from Laguna Seca? Not to mention many other trackside objects that are clearly there when you watch onboard video of real drivers. I thought they took 8 months on each track, what were they doing so long if they missed so much?
Here's what i'm talking about
Look at this video at 1:03.

uhhh, what circuits endorse GT5? GT5 messed up Laguna by missing quite a lot of deatails including safety barriers. Doubt they will endorse a game making their circuit look unsafe.
By the way, professional drivers use PC SIMS, not console.

F1 teams, including red Bull, ironically the same red bull that have the master Adrian Newey who designed a car for GT5, use rfactor in their t...
........These are signs of an unfinished rushed game to make up for the lack of any big exclusive this christmas. I think Sony held a gun to Kaz's head. i highly doubt he wanted to put a game out that drops frames, has fugly trees, misses so many details at the track. I mean, look at laguna at turn five going up the hill, where are the tyre barriers on the left, the right? just empty space. i thought it took 8 months or whatever to make each track. Even if the graphics aren't perfect ...
When you look at the pics, especially the one with the BMW, its seems the lighting is kinda BOGUS. Why is half the car clearly in the shadow of the grandstand and there is no indication of that on the car? shouldn't there be a line of shadow on the car? Same for the cockpit view, how in the world is there no shadow from the grandstand when the driver side should clearly be in the shadow of it? the car self shadowing is there (the roof shadow goes across the wheel and the pillar shadow too...
Honestly, I don't know what all this is about. I can't believe i was almost swayed into not buying the game after all the negative stuff i bought. But i bought it anyway, and you know what? Its great. No lag (so far), not getting dropped from games, it looks good, no slowdown. And so far a lot less camping. there's a guy camping here and there, but a lot less than in MW2.
Just goes to show, don't believe everything you read. Experience for yourself.
Create about 20 "premium cars" that you actually take time to make
about 400 cars from the ps2 and call them "standard"
about 300 from the ps1 and call them "standard used"
about 200 cars from the SNES and call them "sub-standard"
throw in the cars from RC Pro Am on the NES and call them "Bonus"
and you're good. Why waste time actually developing a 100 cars when you can just make a small nmb...
