Mario 64 to this very day remains to be my favourite "Mario" title of all-time. I will never forget walking into my cousin's home one weekend right after the N64 released and I just sat there beside him for hours on end in complete amazement. It took us months to get all 120 stars and once we did, we had to restart and do it all over again... and again, and again.
Hi Zodiac,
Thanks for taking the time for such an elaborate reply. While I know you're not implying that we are, be we most certainly not proclaiming that NSMB3DW will be a "bad" game. In fact, it will most likely be a very good game.
With that said, I - like many other critics - feel that this title is a major disappointment for the core "Mario" franchise. Nintendo needs a landmark title to showcase the Wii U's GamePad functional...
Thanks for taking the time to reply incanloado,
I think that if you read my article you will see that it isn't Mario himself that I'm referring to - the core series is one of my absolute favourite franchises personally. Instead, I'm referring to Nintendo not letting this iconic character 'shine' in the way that we all know that he truly can right now.
"...ultimately consumers will decide which is better."
Yes. Yes the consumers will most definitely decide which is better. And it's funny that he states this in this interview after he himself maintains an authoritative attitude throughout the majority of the interview. Do you know what *not* to do when you're trying to sell a product? (Hint...hint)
The Xbox One has less power than the PS4 - most notably the speed differences in the types of RAM each have on offer - but the two consoles specs are close enough that it will make no difference when it comes to third party titles. We might see a difference in first party titles, but it will most likely take a lot of nit-picking to spot the differences.
Then again, Guerrilla Games is using ray tracing in the upcoming Killzone.
Shahid Kamal Ahmad is also a really great guy. I've spoken with him many times on Twitter and not only is he fantastic at his job, but he's a very compassionate personal as well.
Fire Emblem Awakening alone is worthy of the system's cost!
"Socom on the Vita would cement my intent to purchase this device."
And that is exactly why I wrote this piece in the way that I did. Sony would all but guarantee Vita sales if they put the HD Collection on the Vita exclusively, even it was only a timed exclusive.
Hi Garrison,
Thanks for taking the time to read my article.
One thing I want tell you upfront, in that this is written from more of a business oriented mindset and not from a typical gamer's. I wanted to explore how this series could come back to life in a profitable way for Sony.
As for supporting developers, what I said isn't a "crazy assumption" at all. I never stated that anyone should buy games that they dislike or a...
I would as well SynGamer. I would thoroughly enjoy seeing Sony put a lot of money behind the series, developing a new SOCOM title for the PS4 that utilizes a high-end game engine and developed by one of Sony's top developers (e.g. Naughty Dog, Guerilla Games). I can only image what the Gaikai technology could do for clan wars... it seems that amazing things could indeed be possible for a future SOCOM title on the PS4 - if Sony takes the risk.
But like you, I think that t...
These review are near irrelevant, seeing how the console hasn't even had an official release, which is in June. These reviews are based off of backer units, which the Ouya team as been clear are final hardware, but unfinished software.
Does it not have a brand new Mario title on the console already?
Several of you make great point and are all, in my opinion correct in many ways.
If you remember correctly, when the Wii U was unveiled, it was called "Wii U" for a reason. It mean that it was "Wii You," or a system that combines some experience that were great about the Wii, but on a more core (and personal) level that's similar to what's found on the DS line of Nintendo's products.
A year later though, it was once again sho...
I bought this the day the game released on PC from NICALiS' website - I still play it even today! Fantastic game that deserves all the praise it can receive.
I think you're missing my point. I have no issue with satirical articles; in fact, I usually enjoy them. With this particular piece though, I simply didn't find it funny in the least.
Ken Levine truly touches on some deep issues that are still found within our society in America still today. He brings these issues to life in videogame format to challenge them head first - I have the utmost respect for him for doing just this.
There's a lot of me...
I get that this is supposed to be satire and all, but all I'm seeing is an unfunny post to attract a lot of attention here at N4G for this site. If you hadn't noticed, it usually doesn't keep people around when you do things such as this - satire or not.
I think I get what you're saying: "It was arguably the welcome reception that Darkstalkers received that eventually led to the likes of BlazBlue and Arcana Heart finding their way to European markets – helping to build publisher confidence...",but both "BlazBlue and Arcarna Hearts are developed by Arc System Works and published by Akysys Games. These games are also lead to the market by it's own predecessor: Guilty Gear.
Darkstalkers did release around...
Regardless of what Tiger does this year on the tour - this is one of the best titles in the franchise in a long time. It's well worth picking up if you haven't already. :)
I got one and I think it was for people who have purchase either a set amount of money on SEN, or have purchased Full PS4 Games on SEN.
I'm guessing, of course, but I've downloaded numerous Full Games and I got one, but my friends who have not didn't.
Mario Kart is absolutely stunning in HD! I was blown away with what Nintendo has done with the series - it is exactly what I feel was needed to give the title an edge on the Wii U.
I didn't get to try it out myself - do the controls invert once your carts' magnetize to the ceilings? I hope so!
