Market Cap is VERY important. MS makes more in one quarter than sony does in a year. Microsoft dominates OS and office where as sony only has a small percentage of everything they are in, movies, music, tech. Better for us as competition arises but India is really Microsoft territory. Microsoft hires and pays for their visas so many Indians and a good chunk of MS HQ in redmond has Indian culture. I do agree with you that they made the ps3 REALLY well. And the ps1 as well. I had a lot of problems with the ps2 though. Most of them were the dvd playback ALMOST ALWAYS was the first to go.

Best console ever made would have been e32005 ps3 with the dual hdmi, router capabilities, upscale cell cpu's and cell gpu. Of course though the PC is the best because you can upgrade and performance in HIGH END PC's are unmatched by consoles.
Pretty sweet system. I can upgrade to a Phenom but I enjoy the 65 watt power consumption. You have a beast of a system.
They might be like MS and ax the ps3 to make a better ps4. Just remember to have a bus line that supports the raw power of the cell so it can FULLY utilize it. Also load it with at leat a gig of ram. I wish the ps3 had more "lower" speed memory but more of it. For computers yes, you need the faster ram but in a computer you need more than 256 standard. The C2Q is much better for gaming than Phenom. It is also a lot more Over-Clocking friendly. I am saying this as my laptop uses a Turion AMD X2 1.6 ghz cpu, my home desktop has an AMD X2 5600+ and my office machine has AMD X2 5000+ Black Edition. Don't get me wrong, amd makes awesome chips and for multi-tasking they are better but in the multi-core era, intel takes the crown. But as someone mentioned the price on amd chips as they are MUCH cheaper defenitely makes them worthwhile.

Reason for the fact that the X360 is better for games is two things. The Graphics Card and memory bandwith. True the cell has a higher clock but can only utilize as much as the bandwith will allow it to. Get with reality and know that sony can't cut price on this gen by much. Think of it A LOT like the origianl Xbox. Do you think that nvidia will lower the price of the rsx? What about cell? IBM and Toshiba owns that as well. sony is already losing SO much money with this console and they can't eat billions of dollars like others can. sony is big but their market cap is only around 41 bil while MS is 236 bil. Quite a BIG difference.
I don't know why everyone seems to think MS pays for all of this. Remember Bethesda ONLY worked with PC and Xbox last gen and only this gen they started to work on ps3. If they have ANY loyalties, it would be for the PC platform first. ps3 just gets the leftovers. Even the development team likes the X360/pc WAY better than the ps3 and the X360/PC is their lead platform.
