What is it with most of the american gaming populace this gen about being up sony's butt if they even breath wrong? If it was any of the other 2 companies(especially microsoft) that had this problem it would not garner even 1/3 of the attention and criticism.

There are a good amount of good games for the psp you just have to look. Don't get defensive as I was not complaining nor was I demanding anything from sony, and I am glad and grateful that online play is free on the ps3. So I do not know where you get off on that absurd assumption.
Anyway, the point that I was trying to make is that they are one of the biggest corporations on this planet and I just thought that it was odd that they don't have back up servers for any part of their online business(to my knowledge...
What I don't get is you would think that how big sony is that that they would have some sort of backup servers to temporarily host the psn store and online gaming while this "maintenance" is performed on their main servers, and then when the maintenance is finished that psn and online gaming would revert back to the main servers. That way they would not be losing a potential sale every moment that their main servers are down for maintenance.
