The video-out feature of the psp was not that great because it did not display full screen on the t.v. when connected with the cables when it came to displaying video games, if it did have full screen video-out support I would say that it is a must have feature. Now if the vita had a wireless full screen video-out feature with dual shock 3 controller support for every game that would be great imo.
Read up on The history of the first playstation my friend and you will figure out the answer.
They don't want to cough up the dough for a much bigger disc, but they certainly can take the dough at every chance possible. Talk with your wallet concerning them and they might just listen and seriously consider your recommendation because you are not the only xbox 360 owner who has expressed this displeasure(btw I dont own an xbox 360).
excerpt from article:
" one of Nintendo's chief game designers, Katsuya Eguchi, confirmed that the system's proprietary disc format will hold 25 Gigabytes of data. That squares with our own reporting from before E3 and puts Nintendo in a good place to run games that fill up a SINGLE-LAYER 25 GB BLUE-RAY DISC, the format used by current console king of large game discs, the PlayStation 3."
@Frak: agreed and a bubble+ for your troubles.

If you are worried about a security issue don't worry, just do as a do and delete your credit card info after you made your purchases. It is a pain in the butt but I have been doing this method since I received my ps3 in 2008 and I have never had my credit card info stolen even during the psn outage. Just make it a habit of doing this method when you buy things. Once you delete your credit card info it gets deleted off of sony's servers so there is no way that hackers can get your cre...
@fatstarr-"it took sony like 8 years for the PS2 to finally make a profit. "
-Lol, what ?????
That better be a typo, even if you meant the ps3 it has only been out for 4-5 years( not 8 years ). On the other hand if you meant the ps2 you must on something(drugs or alcohol) because I bet sony made a profit off of the ps2 a few years after the console was released.
Either way your comment does not make sense unless you are trolling. ...
That picture is the controller to the console, YIKES!
I can just imagine a little kid dropping that expensive controller down some stairs or running around with it in excitement and the controller will fly out of the kids hands and that will be it for the screen on the controller. Then it will be time to plunk down another $100+ for a replacement controller.
Imo I think that this was a bad move on nintendo's part for mainly 3 reasons:

Hmm? I think that I am going to take a trip to my local target tomorrow and see what games that they have on sale. I hope that I am not too late to get any of the good titles that are on sale that I don't already have. BTW target, Amazon, and newegg online stores(just to name a few) has mortal kombat for $39.99(Target- 5493d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment
Unless you get content at a discount using psn+, any content that you get for free using psn+ you will lose it once the psn+ subscription expires.
This happened to me so I called up the customer service department number( 1-800-345-SONY ) and talked to one of the service representatives and they said not to worry and told me to do the following: under the PlayStation Network column, go to Account Management>Transaction Management>Services List>SCEA Promotions to download the content. Due to the high volume of traffic on psn right now you will encounter various errors(incudung a "no content" message) but keep on tryin...
Yeah I know what you mean, I am unable to change my password either. Lets just hope that sony fixes the problem soon.
I am from the u.s.a and I was able earlier today to sign in and browse the psn store but I was unable to to change my password so I can buy some stuff due to the "change password" section of sony's website undergoing maintenance. Now I am unable to get access to the psn store period due to this new error called: ( 80710d36 ) and the welcome back package is available today. I am just wondering what is going on now. I hope psn is fully restored soon, that is all.
All ps3 consoles play ps1 games, so either buy a hard copy version of metal gear solid for ps1 or a digital version copy of metal gear solid for ps1 and you will be good to go. Don't worry though metal gear solid is so popular that there are plenty of hard copy versions of the game available at good prices, so you wont have trouble finding a copy of the game for a reasonably good price.
@dragonknight.
I tried to change my account password on both my pc and ps3 because I forgot my new account password that I inputted when sony partially restored the online service, but the particular section of the sony site that takes care of password changes is down for maintenance f.y.i.
I was going to buy some stuff on the psn store but I forgot what my new password was that I inputted when sony partially restored the online service. So I tried to change my password through both my ps3 and my pc, but that particular part of the site is down because of maintenance. Oh well, I guess sony will have to wait to get my money until they fix that problem.
LOL, I don't care about agrees/disagrees or bubbles +/-. But it has not even been 10 minutes since I posted the message above and I already got a disagree. LOL, thanks for the laugh though(whoever you may be) because it really shows how ignorant some people can be without even doing a little research or even replying to my post stating why they disagree.
Maybe it could be that I hurt a fanboy's/fangirl's feelings by stating the truth and so they disagreed with me ...
For those of you fanboys that thought that the metal gear/metal gear solid series grew up on the ps1 I hate to break it to you but the series has been released on multiple consoles since it's inception which was way before the playstation.
In an ironic twist of fate the series first released on the msx/msx 2 in which the msx/msx 2 console was conceived by Kazuhiko Nishi, then Vice-president at MICROSOFT Japan and Director at ASCII Corporation. The msx/msx 2 was manufactur...
@femshep
My prediction for a ps4 announcement is 2014 at the earliest. Ibm just announced recently that they have just produced the next generation cell processor, and when sony was questioned about the ps4 sony commented that it will be way cheaper to produce the ps4 in terms of cost(adjusted for inflation) than it was to produce the ps3.
By the time 2014 rolls around the tech for the ps4 would be much cheaper than it would be now, releasing the ps4 any ear...
Accidentally double posted.
The problems that I have with this is:
1) Lets say I am out in public or camping and I have 10 minutes left of battery power, what do I do If I want to keep playing my game pass the 10 minutes that are left and I have no electrical outlet to charge the vita handheld?
- I know I would just stop playing because I would have no choice, but why leave me no choice sony. With the psp-3000 this would not be a problem because I always keep a backup battery with my ps...
