"Ease of consoles"?
Consoles this generation have mandatory installs, patches and OS Updates.
They're essentially becoming PCs.
Not saying that these are bad things, but there is no real "ease of use" for consoles anymore since you have to contend with the same things.
May as well get a PC since it'll likely be more powerful and able to push better graphics. :P
I'm not big on cloud gaming. I tried OnLive on my PC and it looked like ass compared to running the game natively.
I think it's a good supplement to native gaming, but running EVERYTHING through the cloud is a dumb idea in my opinion.
Possibly a entry level cheap Playstation console that runs everything via cloud with a subscription fee, but I personally want to keep things running on my own machine so I would rather shell out the money for a mach...
It won't all be that way. (Well, assuming this takes off anyway)
If this actually does well then there will be actual console style games being developed for Android because of this console, so it won't be literally a "tablet games on big screen" kind of thing.
The OS is based on Android, it won't literally use the tablet style GUI, just the underlying code of android.
But heh, if it completely flops then tablet st...
I think OUYA is a very good idea.
The problem is how it is implemented. It needs marketing and a nice solid OS. The OS is based on Android, but I mean it needs to have a variety of gaming related features so that is actually appealing to use.
It would be a bit silly just to use bog standard android on this thing. If the correct software is applied to it, I think it could do well.
Personally I'm quite interested in it, may even have ...
Learn to read. "Current generation LEVEL hardware".
It doesn't use current gen hardware, but it uses weak/gimped hardware especially when compared to PC hardware that is already years old.
The hardware that is uses is comparable to current generation level hardware power wise, hence why the Wii-U is simply a glorified current gen console. It may be slightly more powerful, but it's hardly next gen.
That is what I am goi...
Wii-U = Next gen due to time of release I suppose, but it still just uses current generation level hardware so it is really just a glorified current gen console.
Nothing next gen about it aside from the release date.
@TooTall19
Yes, there is a subscription cost to use the service fully.
@inveni0
Gaming already is in a black hole of shovelware, thanks to Nintendo.
This wouldn't make it any worse.
Not only that, but I'd hate to see how badly the servers get smashed every time a major game release happens as well. :P
Cloud gaming is overrated, the subscription costs for these services would exceed the cost of an actual machine after a long time of being subscribed anyway so just avoid the damn hassle and buy a real machine
I don't think they are, they're just showing games such as Assassin's Creed 3 and other current gen games just to say "Oh, hey look, how we have a system powerful enough to run the games that the 6 year old consoles you already own can run!"
Probably just trying to get PS3/360 owners to buy a Wii-U and will carry on churning out crappy casual games with the occasional decent 3rd party game like they always do.
FF7 doesn't need a remake, it's overrated as it is.
If you like the game, just play the original... since, you know, that's the game that you like. If they actually remade the game it would just be similar to new FF games with the FF7 story anyway.
They wouldn't, because PCs would also have said high end GPUs as Sony and MS essentially use off the shelf GPU's now.
Back in the 8-bit and 16-bit eras, this kind of sound in a game was more commonly known as a sound chip failure.
Yeah, we will have so much fun playing Wonderbook.....
Sony didn't do much better.. Their conference was boring as hell.
Thanks haha
Who would pre-order this crap anyway?
The perfect example of an RPG player who simply attaches themselves to the most popular game in a series.
No.
I said this in a different topic relating to this, but I think it'd be dumb to exclusively game via cloud.
I think it would be cool to use this, for example to demo PS4 games on PS3, or use it as an enhanced remote play like that which can be done between PS3/PSP.
It could be used for playing your full PS3 games on another weaker platform such as a tablet or hand-held console.
Imo it's a good supplement to native gaming, but I w...
