Oh this is ridiculous. It still doesn't erase the idiocy of the reason the Reapers even do anything at all. The Catalyst makes an argument for eradicating everything that exists since that would be far simpler than this plan they came up with. Furthermore indoctrinating Shepard by the end of the game only exposes the stupidity of the indoctrination plot device, especially if rapid indoctrination is possible. The reapers could just indoctrinate all of the military forces and then mop u...
I like both. My room is small so all have is my computer desk. Therefore I connect my consoles to my monitor rather than my TV.
It certainly does not feel like a reward for people that purchase new, especially with the stunts that publishers have pulled in the past. The consumer does not care about the need to profit when they have been scammed in the past. They have no reason to trust publishers any more with respect to DLC through these passes, and it isn't the consumer's fault. It is the fault of the industry itself.
Why not launch the game at 40USD? (Particularly on PC.) This whole th...
I do more and more gaming on the PC now than either of my consoles. But I'm wondering just how Microsoft expects to attract me to the next Xbox if the current one doesn't seem to have any games you can only get on Xbox beyond Kinect and a few downloadable titles. (Which will probably end up on PC or the other important console soon enough.) I have been playing Skyrim on my 360 in part because it seemed to be the best console version, and because I wanted to know if it would be worth...
Piracy is as much an issue as people letting their friends or other acquaintances play the games they bought. Running around and engaging in extortion over something that has the same effect as you handing your copy of God of War to you friend and letting them play it is not the way to handle non issues like this. It doesn't help that their evidence is essentially non-existent almost by definition. (Typical real world conditions make it almost impossible to use IP address collection as...
The problem with Infamous 2 is the same problem that Infamous one had. The Karma system. Karma systems never work. Then there is the fact that Zeke is even in Infamous 2. After what happened in Infamous there is no reason for him to even be in this game, no reason for these two to be on anything even approaching speaking terms. As for the game falling into racial stereotypes, I would argue that the fact that "evil" Cole gets darker and darker as he does more bad things has a mu...
I refuse to be suckered by any videos of DMC DMC 2 looked fun in videos too, and that sucked. NT has yet to make a game in this genre that is anywhere near any of the other top games in the genre just with respect to mechanics. They do narratives very well however. I think that much of the hate with respect to DMC comes from Tameem making Dante look like himself (Not even the fact that they changed the look.), and the way Capcom and NT handled PR by insulting the fans.
Me too.
Skullgirls does have the anime art style but that isn't bad at all. As for Raiden he definitely doesn't look like a pretty boy anymore.
People just need to understand that they were probably never really going for an MGS game. They wanted to make Raiden his own person so to speak. Even the original superscript had Lightning Bolt Action as opposed to Tactical Espionage Action.
I agree up to a point I think the fans do know what they want, but I also think that in this case they should not be so negative as they had been up front about Rising being something different from the other Metal Gear games from the very beginning. Konami is not Capcom and Platinum games is not Ninja Theory.
Though I think in this case some of the negativity is coming from the fact that this game is different from MGS. Where as in the case of DMC the negativity started wit...
The developer should feel confident about their own design before asking people to buy it though. What happened here is that they looked up one day and realized that they were not personally feeling what they had originally come up with. Perhaps it didn't feel very fun to them (We all know they do know what fun is.) so they went back to the drawing board. I think part of the problem given what they have been saying is that they had ended up gravitating more towards the action aspect of...
Meh the old trailer looked a little boring. You couldn't really see any detail on anything save Raiden. When they showed the actual gameplay and not just the set piece. Given how horrible the sword controls were in MGS2 I was more concerned about them getting those right than anything else. With Platinum on board I know the controls won't suck at least.
Raiden just slows down Arsenal gear with his body, and spins Geckos around while break dancing. But yea it is this game that is not "Metal Gear." This isn't a Metal Gear Solid game, however it is set within the same universe hence the Metal Gear in the title, just like Acid. Where did people think this was going to go when they first showed the whole free-form cutting mechanic?
@piratethom I have played all of the MGS games from the Playstation era. I've not finished MGS 3 however. You are seriously going to tell me that Raiden walking into a room of guys with no arms and walking out alive makes sense? Or the stuff with Vamp? Do you not understand that he was not the hero for MGS4 so there was no way he was going to be allowed to outdo the actual star of the game? Your selective memory is clouding your judgement. Does it look like he is significantly weaker...
Right because it is wrong to place games in different genres when you have characters that are particularly suited to them....
To even compare this to the travesty that is DMC is just dumb. First off they have been up front from the very beginning about Rising not being like other MG titles. Secondly this is not a reboot of a series that doesn't need one. Finally Platinum Games actually knows how to make the kind of game they have been brought in to make.
Sad but true. I think this is going to be a fun game. At least it won't be like DMC in so far as Platinum actually knows how to do these kinds of games well and they didn't go and change around Snake or some other nonsense and instead used a different character for a different direction.
@Eamon I get what you are saying but MGS has always been over the top. Just think about the last boss fight in MGS 2 with Solidus in the power armor zipping all over the place. I also think it is worth noting that the cyborg ninjas have always sported incredible strength and speed from the very beginning, sometimes you slow things down to normal speed because you want people to see the movements. Other times you want to emphasize things like speed etc. This is normal in pretty much everyt...
They already are allowed to write whatever they feel like, however if they want to charge people money for their work they are going to have to live with the fact that people other than themselves will have an opinion on what they like. Furthermore this opinion had better be considered if the artist wishes to continue to sell their work.
Books and movies have been changed in the past and will continue to be in the future because the readers and viewers take issue with someth...
