These people don't understand that all that sane people will see if they ever come across these articles are sad people who can't stand the idea that someone doesn't play games for the same reasons they do.
@rainslacker By your own admission, Sean Murray used an insufficient medium to let people know that the game isn't a multiplayer game, he also did it at the eleventh hour. It takes time for news to circulate.
"Also in response to how long people were in front of the game...do you reasonably expect us to assume a great number of people just started the game, played it a short time, then left it running for 30-40+ hours just to have it running? I can see the occasio...
Is that the sole reason why people want refunds though? Not that that is relevant. The fact that Sean's vagueness is a red flag to you or me does not lessen people's right to a refund.
You have no idea how long they were actually in front of the game, you don't know if the same person was even at the controls the entire time.
Game hour count is irrelevant when less than a week could have passed between the two. Sean Murray induced people to buy his game by implying that you could, in fact, play with friends. He didn't say "Oh hey guys we tried implementing this but it didn't work so we took it out." he let people believe certain things by being intentionally vague.
Because the game time accurately represents the actual time people have played a game. Oh wait no it doesn't, it only represents the amount of time that the game was running. Fifty hours is a little over several days worth of time.
@Xb1ps4, Oh it is so clear to me now, I have to give a setting I already don't care about a chance because of some ill defined set of reasons. The gameplay is irrelevant since the setting itself is already crap that has been done by Left 4 Dead, The Last of Us, Days Gone, Resident Evil, Dead Rising, and Dying Light, War Z, H1Z1. The zombie/infected game is the new WWII shooter. When the world of MG is more than rich enough to actually pull off this kind of a game, and you come up with a...
What I want to know is why bother doing the remaster for Pachinko machines? Who exactly is their market for this within Japan? Why go after a tired meme in the form of Zombies (The co-op thing is not a bad idea by itself.) after saying you want fans back? Don't these people see how many big name games there are that already have zombies in them as one of their defining features?
No. Some of us don't give a damn about yet another zombie game being vomited out because these suits can't rub together two brain cells. A co-op shooter would work quite easily, Meryl and her team could be used for example. Look at Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z, they pulled this whole zombie nonsense too. Just like mgs making a game playing as the bad guy could easily be done in the Ninja Gaiden universe (Black spider clan.), but the people making creative decisions were not really being ver...
Yea. No. These zombie modes (And games in general.) are already played out. Konami could have made a co-op shooter with Rat Patrol 1. All this shows us is that they didn't even want to think about doing something creative, instead they want to come out with yet another zombie game. This is Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z all over again.
@Baka-akaB "You bring up wishes and feelings about how universal a game should be ..but practically speaking , how do you design an easier version of a level where every 10 meters there is a mortal trap , like a bottomless pit , a rolling boulder activated by a switch , a flamthrower etc without actually changeing the nature of said level?"
What divine law says you have to redesign the level to make something that satisfies the concept of an easy mode?

Not an issue, you just make the connection algorithms filter people based on difficulty settings.
@Baka-akab it doesn't matter what your opinion is. It is a fact that enemy A.I. settings are a part of the balancing work that is already done. It is fundamentally factually wrong to suggest that difficulty settings would require the team to create new maps.
So an option that won't affect you or the artistic vision by existing shouldn't exist because only your reasons for playing these games are valid? Right.
Just restrict NG+ to the same difficulty setting. This is not a hard technical problem; unlike say ensuring the game has rock solid framerates. (I have heard that the latest patch fixes lots of these issues. Man, I can't wait for the PC version to unlock for me. This weekend is soooo long T_T.)
The witcher says hi.
A difficulty setting is a purely engineering concern, with respect to whether or not it exists. People's opinions about whether or not the option should exist are irrelevant. I happen to be of the opinion that these games do not need difficulty settings. However, I fully comprehend that a setting would in no way impact how I choose to enjoy the game. My argument isn't based on my opinion of how I like to play these games. It is based on the ...
The issue for me isn't whether or not there should, or shouldn't be difficulty settings. It is the selfish insistence that people who do want such a thing will ruin the game for other people when there are any number of games that are harder and require greater skill than Souls games that have not been affected negatively by having difficulty modes. It is the same kind of idiocy that leads to virtually all southpaw controller layouts being broken. And heaven forbid if you point out ...
Why would you need to remove offline? The difficulty level of the world is nothing more than a flag. This data could easily be used to match players using the same settings.
Does anyone remember articles being written about how DMC shouldn't have an easy mode because it would ruin the franchise's identity as difficult? Does anyone remember people saying that easy mode should be removed in order to stay true to the series?
You do realize that the reason old games were hard was because they needed to facilitate what we would call a microtransaction today right? Hell Lion King was made hard according to one of the devs so that kids would be forced to buy it (Have their parents buy it really.) instead of just renting it. Games were streamlined because the death of the arcade meant that they didn't need to gate completion behind BS. Plus back in the 80's and 90's designer had less of a clue what they w...
