Yes and hardcore gamers who follow news were confused. It's not necessarily a bad thing when they still got almost 2 years before the U launches. Speculation can be good and sometimes bad though.

Save your money for Xbox 720 in 2013 and PS4 in 2014 instead buying the WiiU. WiiU will be obsolete once PSV comes out.

Well I'm just gonna be playing this bad boy at home most of the time. I like being social when I'm out. That means no headphones and looking at a electronic device(for the majority of the time).

Why does it have to be 1st party when 3rd party developers are on board? 3rd party success is what made the PS1 and PS2 so successful. Call of Duty, GTA, Final Fantasy, and Madden to name a few. Suddenly those games don't seem boring anymore because I get to play them on a handheld which has never been done before on this scale.

How? I'm not spending money on a game that will no give me a new experience. After red dead and gta4 they have reached limit of multiplat openworld games. La noire was a step back.
No wonder Microsoft had nothing to show this year. It's because they are paying Rockstar to make Agent multiplat. I'm not interested in Agent anymore if it's multiplat. LA noire turned out to be a very average game.
What am I expecting? What good does it do to annouce games so far in advance. You will be hyped for 1 week maximum and then you will not see news on these games for another year atleast.
Remember when sony PS3 was annouced in 2005 and you waited so long for the actual games to come out in 2007 and 2008. Yea you waited 2 years for Motorstorm and 3 years for MGS4. This resulted in angry and impatient gamers.
That's still on par with the current generation. This is no different than the Wii being slightly stronger than PS2 and the original Xbox.
Well it's easy to annouce games that aren't coming until 2013 and 2014. Sony could have easily said things about Agent and Last Guardian. And Final Fantasy 14.
It won't be easy but they can make the PSV like the WiiU with firmware updates. Remember the PS3 game Lair? There's a feature with Remote play where you can play Lair on lower settings on the PSP already. And that was done in 2007. With the front and back camera on PSV, those features we saw in the Nintendo Conference can be implemented. Sony just needs to copy everything.
Call of Duty is not crap on a handheld because it's never been done before on this scale, but it is casual crap on the home system because its been done five times.
Whether it be $49.99 or $59.99, the games are gonna sell.
Nintendo already messed up a few years ago when clearly their demographic was the casual gamer.
With this offering with the Nintendo U it's not gonna be 2012 before they even start coming out with hardcore games. It's too little too late. By 2013 the next xbox and Playstation will be coming out. Nintendo will once again be behind the curve.
