I think Gears 1 put the 360 on the map as far as offering something different other than just Halo. Gears 1 was the game that proved that the xbox was something more than just the "Halo player". Gears 1 was able to sell like a Halo branded game before a Halo game released. Graphically Gears 1 was best looking game on release compared to PC and PS3.
