The grizzled thirty something white guy is a dumb stereotype too, it has more to do with lazy cliche characterization and writing than any kind of racial bias (not saying the author was saying it didn't, just pointing that out) plus if you're a minority in a country's population you're probably just naturally going to wind up as a minority in that country's mainstream cultural output, that's just the way it goes.

Nice. Yakuza demos are the reason I figured out how to get a Japanese account. They're always worth the twenty minutes of clicking through Japanese text boxes you have to do before anything becomes playable.
Whether you enjoy South Park or not you have to admit Matt and Trey are just incredible. Most animated episodes take months to create one episode. These guys create an entire episode every seven days of a run. That in itself is truly insane. The fact that they do this while working on a hit movie, then a hit Broadway musical and then a full proper videogame. It's just mind boggling. They're like some kind of wizards...grand wizards.

The trick is to only play while drunk. The first night I played I was drinking heavily while playing in the dark with headphones on and volume cranked and I came away thinking, 'yeah that was pretty good. Made me jump once or twice and has a nice atmosphere'. The next night I tried to play sober and literally did say 'nope' and shut the thing off within five minutes of starting it up.

When I saw the first screenshots for this game and heard it was a 4 player co-op shooter I fully expected a complete Borderlands rip off. I know these guys did Left 4 dead before but everything I'd seen of this game was much more Borderlands to the point it just looked like a cynical attempt to cash in on that game's success. After seeing the gameplay and hearing the 4vs1 model I have to say this actually looks pretty damn interesting.
Playing GTA5 was the first time I ever thought that if I had kids I would not let them play this but then I think back to some of my favourite movies when I was a kid. Am I just getting old? Everything looks the same these days and hardly any of it interests me. Every new one of these games I check out just leaves me depressed about the lack of creativity in the industry but I honestly don't know if it's just me. Maybe I need a break from gaming.

I have to admit I feel like I've had my fill of modern day Yakuza games but I really want them to localize the Samurai based spin off (can't remember the name right now). Still, my opinion is to be taken with a pinch of salt because I have to admit the shlocky B movie zombie spinoff Dead souls might be my favourite of the series.....yes, you heard me.
I'm really liking it so far, with the night vision mode on it looks crazy good and is as close to the film Rec (the Spanish one) as I've seen a game get, which is a good thing. I just wish, truly wish the jump scares were done without the loud musical stabs. Some of the scares use sound well and the ambient sound is incredible but the loud stabs of music, a hundred times louder than anything else in the game to make you jump, it just feels like cheating.

I was actually gonna mention those parts of The Walking dead but felt I had already ranted way too long. Maybe it's bigotry on my end but I have to admit when I first saw the character Kenny in The Walking dead with his trucker cap, slightly mulletty hair and big gunfighter tache I just KNEW there was gonna be trouble.
