Well that's certainly a reasonable reaction to a perfect score on a website.
I loved Contrast and felt it suffered from the Mirror's edge treatment, in as much as it was a creative and artistically beautiful game that due to its risk taking still had a few rough edges, and got unfairly slaughtered for it in reviews. I'll always take that over a game that's simply smoothing out even more rough edges from a formula that's existed for years.
Hopefully the free BETA will be released once they've ironed all the bugs out of the paid version (wait, what?) and I can actually check any of this out.
Once again, how is a game featuring both straight and gay people (same as the real world) pushing politics into gaming? and how is the government banning games featuring one type of person some kind of noble stand against the politicisation of games?
I can't help but wonder what other elements of culture this applies to. South African apartheid? North Korean death camps? Chinese persecution of Christians? Palestinian violence toward Israelis? Israeli violence toward Palestinians?

I have to admit I did find that pretty funny when playing through Dragon age 2 recently. I've always completely supported the gay choice being in there (and still do obviously) but man, when actually playing it I spent the entire game trying to romance Merrill (and failing thanks to a glitch near the end dammit) while every male character I met was coming onto me every chance they got.

Wow, what is happening with these big name sites recently?? I'm not saying this game doesn't deserve the score it's got but it seemed back in the day every respectable site would sort of agree on the quality of a game. Now it seems any game a site gives a perfect score gets a truly mediocre score somewhere else, it's hard to separate common objections from weird personal quirk problems like a game not being to a specific reviewer's taste.
so far I've only played the intro and Intro car mission with Franklin, then I've just gone for a little stroll with Franklin. Playing FPS with FPS controls made the intro feel almost entirely different, in a cool way but the driving, wow is it so much harder. Maybe I just need more practice but I'm guessing I'm not gonna be able to stick to my plan of playing the entire game through in first person.

Oh but they did. I think it was around the time of the release of the game for last generation consoles I remember the lack of a playable female character was a big issue for about a week or so. It's just as it was when Driveclub starting getting reviewed, the Xbox fanboys were gloating themselves to death and the Sony fanboys were talking conspiracy and lamenting the harsh and hateful state of game reviews. Now it's an Xbox game's time in the barrel and the roles completely reverse. Next it will be a disappointing or problematic PS4 exclusive and the roles will reverse yet again. You folks talking about biased reviewers and unfairly harsh reviews will be jumping for joy ...
This has the potential to be beyond amazing but I really hope the show/book characters only feature as much (or at most a little more) than The Walking dead Comic characters. I love Tyrion but I don't want to play as him in some super important side story the book or show just forgot to mention. I'd much rather play through some side story with original characters that just fits into the same Universe.
