And the explanation is that players are spread across multiple servers and therefore, not only is it a remote chance of meeting but players have to be in the same instance. Same as any other online game.
So it's not a lie. In fact it's the best way to explain it to a bunch of people playing the game that aren't IT/game server specialists. No lie was told...it's just slightly harder than just turning up at the same location even.

As quoted on another post...there's absolutely no doubt that NMS is NOT FOR EVERYONE. Same as COD or FIFA aren't for everyone.
But for those yearning space exploration, it's certainly tantalising in its scope.

Appreciate that these companies want to make profit. But I would hesitate to produce software for an American hardware manufacturer if I thought that that company wasn't going to try and promote the software in ANY location, least of all, where I thought the software was going to sell well. Particularly if I could do it for a company who would introduce bundles and sell units for both soft and hardware.

I think you're right. I think it's an 'S' type upgrade but they're considering crossing the bridge to Scorpio now.
All supposition of course. I can't believe it would be too low key because they want to sell it though. I do personally think they're only just considering Scorpio equivalent and how to produce something with that kind of capability. But I think they will close that technology gap and retain the sales lead regardless...
