Sony on this occasion but as someone's pointed out, MS on others. All comes down to a financial deal.
Truth is, Game overcharge full stop - probably to compensate for the deal that got exclusivity in the first place.
But I agree and hope Sony side with a better retailer in future...for the players...

With a good game and proper roadmap of WORTHY DLC, SP can continue to make money too. It's a mindset. Also, the resale after launch is only as good as the game itself. Hello Battleborn and Lawbreakers...
I don't believe they cost significantly more. As someone says...20-25 hours of quality gameplay with a decent DLC tagged on which people WILL buy IF they enjoy the main experience.
Instead of a game with watering and feeding costs on hardware hosting multiplayer for 5-10 years.
Multiplayer maps still need building and testing, so why would a game with 8-10 maps cost sooo much more than a game with 8-10 chapters in the same landscape? A little maybe, but not sooo much mor...

Agree - don't doubt it's behind their thinking. I just hope they rein in what they may have been planning. In the right way...there' s a place for GAAS IMO. As long as it offers more of a good game with great value for money. I would've supported the rumour of Driveclub following that cycle (like their first season pass) - a defined release over a year of x cars and x tracks. Like MS CEOs have a much better track record over the past few years. Promising more exclusive work and studios for years (having all this excess cash that could "buy Sony if MS wanted to"). Finally looks like they've caught on and looks a little more promising for 3 years from now - if they rein in their desire for GAAS across the board.
