Gears came out November 7, 2006.

I listed games that took about the same time to come out after console launch.

My fault. My memory failed me for InFamous' release date.

You're listing third party titles. But, oh well. Apparently, you're innocent of spinning when you're listing timed exclusives(because PS3 hadn't launched yet).

I went to a year and a few months. Where do you get three years? Gears came out a year and a few months later. Same time span.

1. ND is one of the most reputable studios, period.

2. Games have had cloud based "physics" for a decade or so, but, they wouldn't dedicate a server just to process it for singleplayer.

3. Graphics are so much more intense it's not even funny. These are basic servers in a massive cluster. Even a dozen stations wouldn't give the same graphical quality as one console. It's not cost productive at all, and again, it's so ridiculous...

Sony didn't focus all on media, at all. Bluray, yes. That's all. XBox had more media related app focus first. 360 had like no big games until Gears came out a year after its launch.

Sony had games like MGS4, Demons Souls, Resistance, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, InFamous, LittleBIGPlanet, Warhawk, Motorstorm, Uncharted, and KillZone

It works for older titles on a good and low latency ISP. If you want modern graphics at full fledged clarity on your HD TV then it's not going to be the way to go. Great idea, but it won't replace physical hardware at home for at least two decades at the earliest. Only for older titles. And, it will definitely not replace competetive gaming.

GREAT idea though. PSNow available on Samsung smart TV's now, Vita, some phones, current consoles, etcetera. I hope it make...

Norman Reedus confirmed as Yami Yugi.

For one.. You are talking about complete speculation from a rough translation. that still hasn't been clarified.

Logically speaking.. You're still talking about "new" and "one of a kind" tech that isn't actually confirmed, yet, anyways. So, I don't see why you are trying to explain how it works.

Again, still unconfirmed. Don't harp about secret X1 sauce like everyone else is. Always have to...

It's hardly custom built just because it has esRAM..

They didnt take a completely different approach whatsoever. It's literally just like the 360. Just stronger, obviously with added functionality.

I don't see anywhere where they went above any standard engineering process. It's a console. Of course, it has more hardware control access, but it's no different than any other console. It sends data back and forth no differently, aside from ...

Why did we ever buy new consoles when we can just download an update?!

I wouldn't say that is so. Yes, GTAV is a marvel on "current gen" consoles, but I don't doubt ND couldn't deliver the same. It's just not their focus currently. The dufference is open world and lower graphics, albeit not by much.

Console wise, and this goes for Ryse as well. They have far less vegetation and dynamic effects. Ryse is also lower resolution and extremely narrow with dozens of copy and pasted fights in the background, and it's a short game, which means graphics were easier to focus on. I understand it does look great but the faces are the only things that truly stand out for "next gen" consoles. The cutscenes were mostly prerendered as well, despite not being a huge graphics bump throughout,...

What? X1 doesn't use DX11 specifically. It's modified and is basically already what DX12 strives to be on PC. It's all about hardware control, which consoles already have.

4071d ago 4 agree7 disagreeView comment

Ps4 is far more intricate. Custom cooler and everything is designed in detail to be compact. X1 is literally a box, a board, and a standard cpu cooler. Sony literally worked with AMD to add 50% more gpu cores to the chip. It is custom by the definition itself. Microsoft is merely bragging of software, which is entirely different from hardware. Why would you brag that MS spent more money? Really? They waste so much money because they're leadership is full of themselves. You've seen it ...

American actor for the mocap and so they used his voice as well for the English voice. Same thing Uncharted series did for many scenes. Live voice acting as well as mocap acting. Makes it more believable and easier. I don't think Hayter had a bad voice at all. I think it didn't have enough emotional diversity. Which is what the point of Keifer Sutherland taking over is. I'm not sure how good the Japanese voice actor is so I'm not sure he is being kept. But, who knows the reali...

Antisotropic filtering, draw distance, and resolution :p

Everything far away just looks immensely more clear. But, most of my favorite games are actually on console but, I currently only play PC and handhelds(sometimes).

Of course. People make up the company.

If they would stop rehashing ideas and make actual sequels that would save them. But, nope. Breath of Fire 6 was a huge chance for them to rediscover the JRPG market. Look at what they made it into..

@timotim

If it's about efficiency then resolution would indeed be affected. Don't make up things to try and spark argument and excuses.

Resolution greatly improves the visual quality of everything on screen. Textures are sharper, edges are sharper, and objects further away are far more visible.

And, everyone else. It's not a "few" more pixels. It's a lot. 1080p is a chosen standard now for a reason.

I never liked WoW. It was all the same as you leveled up. Way too repetitive. And, don't think I haven't raided or pvp'd. Honestly, I don't understand how you can raid the same boss back to back over and over and keep enjoying it. So boring. I can't play Demons Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, Kingdom Hearts, and dozens of other games and go back to standing still unless the ground below me has a marker for an attack, then move over, and s...

Critically? You mean like what my whole comment is?

Post an actual reply next time.

Kojima has said nothing about it. Konami took forever to reply about it. It's a very vague amount of info other than "He is fired". How does no one have info about one of the most popular developers/directors?

Not sure if you follow Kojima, but he's had many elaborate ideas life this.

It's still April. Kojima trolls. But, this is so huge it's hard to say it's not true. It seems like it is. Though, MGS5 is basically done. It sucks; that means he wouldn't make ZoE 3 or keep directing Silent Hill. But, he probably has many other ideas to explore. My favorite manga is Berserk, but the author doesn't put out content in deadlines. He does it when it's ready, no buts, and explores other ideas to bring to fruition, but not many unfortunately.
