Happy for all those who enjoy Kinect and feel its worth the price, but this article is pretty weak in justifying the value of the device. Saved him money? Really? Glad MS quickly saw the light and allowed me to really save $100 on buying the console without the device. Don't want it, don't need it, don't miss it.
Didn't you read the article, or did you just not understand its point? That being Xbox introduced and standardized Western games in the cnsole market. Without the introduction of Xbox, Gears of War may never have existed or only on PC.
Obviously Kinect inclusion didn't bother the early adapters all that much since they still bought the system. If they didn't want/like Kinect than they shouldn't have bought the system knowing thats part of what they were buying. No sympathy here.
Does this article assume MS isn't working on a slim redesign of the One? Sony has less reason to change their console at this time than MS does. If anything, we'll see a slim ONE before a slim PS4
Liking the new customization options, if only they can reduce the giant blocks on screen so we can actually see the backgrounds. How about transparent tiles.
Looks good, just hope there are challenging achievements that actually represent skill and "achieving something" aka Halo 3 rather than the lame gimme achievements such as the Halo 4 ones.
So what is the point in even offering a physical disc based version? If your not getting the whole game on disc and have to download 20gb to play than there is no point to even offering this game on disc. Don't see why they couldn't put the MP component on a second disc and only require one of the discs to in the drive to play, same as numerous games last gen.
Wrong. The original Xbox was x86 based, just as the Xbox One is. Only the 360 is Power PC. Its not hard to look up, check your facts
Backwards compatibility shouldn't be to difficult with original xbox games since it was x86 based as well.
That would be great, something to actaully make it a Halo special edition console instead of a Sunset Overdrive console with Halo as the pack in game.
Shouldn't "special edition" consoles have have some sort of artwork theme to them tying them to the game? This "special edition" console isn't any different than the sunset overdrive one except for the pack in game. Nothing special about that to make it unique. I hope this isn't setting a new trend from MS to cheapen their "special editions" by doing nothing except change the color, or include just a themed controller as in the Titanfall "speci...
Ahh, no, it looks nothing like the PS4 controller. Resembles the 360 controller more than the One controller.
I used to prefer physical copies rather than digital. Having something to physically see and touch feels like owning something, you can loan and sell it, and having a phyical collection on a shelf to see and show off is worth something. However, since companies stopped putting manuals in physical copies of games they themselves have lost value, feeling incomplete, like its missing something. My OCD cant tolerate this and would now rather just get a digital copy, at least it feels like I...
A redesign without any improvements or reason other than asthetics is pointless. A redesign would be more justified if it built in the power supply thus making it more of a compact single unit. Also, for the next redesign how about a couple easy to access usb ports in the front. Any slimming of the actual console would just be a bonus.
An Xbone hardware redesign is all thats needed now to finish reinventing it and allow for a full comeback. Smaller dimensons, built in power supply, bigger hdd, and easier to access usb ports on the front of the console. While at it lower the price another $50 to compensate for the cheaper and less powerful gpu and RAM relative to the PS4.
Well, at least you picked the one with the better controller.
No, you just had to turn your wireless controller into a wired one.
My theory to #1 is because under the original vision of Xbone (requiring an online connection and Kinect be plugged in), Kinect was to be used as a data mining tool, such as tracking the number of people in a room and reactions and so forth. That would require the resources to always be tied up...to be able to consistantly mine data
Halo 4 lumped togeter with Halo 1-3!?...blasphemy
I seriously doubt they will increase the price of the console. A two month limited time promotion? If they do increase it it won't stay there long. The promotion is making you belive its a promotion so you hurry up and go get one.
