Retailers can't make money out of used games?
they'll show the middle finger to manufacturers, truth is, Gamestop makes more money out of used games rather than the new games, let alone HW, Manufacturers can't do much, because if they try to go against them, retailers could simply stop selling the HW and that alone would kill the chances of the userbases to grow, so, it's not gonna happen ...
People don't care about what works better, Apple products are not the best at all, but sell the most, people just follow the trends and the popular s*** of the moment, MS spent well their money advertising Kinect to hell and back, now they're getting the sales, Sony didn't gave a s*** about advertising Move and the thing is not selling as well as MS's add-on...
There are Three Forces here:
1· Manufacturers
2· Retailers
3· Publishers
IF this is true, *1* and *3* would be favored but *2* would be screwed, because Retailers gets more money out of used games rather than new, but IF they found a workaround that can benefit retailers as well, we're f***ed!

True tbh, their TV business is making them lose so much money, it's unbelievable, they're not in the times of Trinitron, Bravia is not seeing as the must buy brand, because people don't give a s*** about brand recognition when they buy a new TV anymore
What it can be good for unification is their Movie and Music divisions, not just puting movies and music in the consoles, it's about product placement, communication between divisions, cooperation, like share I...
Sony need s***loads of money in advertising, they need to pull out an Apple, yeah, pay to those fancy actors and singers for promoting their stuff, Sony has hands in the Movie + Broadcasting + Music business, it should be easy for them
It's time to cut all the crap that doesn't work, so far what it makes Sony bleed the most is their TV business, people are not going to pay more just for the brand, let it go and come back when you can afford competitive prices

wii-u has this i-tablet-pad that obviously rise the price of the console, so to make it an affordable purcahse, N sacrifice power, no doubt it'll be more powerful than PS360, but those 2 consoles have 8 years old tech inside, nothing to be proud about if wii-u is more powerful than PS360, thing is, what's going to happen when Xbox3 and PS4 comes out...
