Seeing how Playstation Home is a Gold Sponsor of GDC Europe to be held the days before Gamescom i'd guess they are trying to push Home a little. So i expect some sort of announcement on that front.

The logic of downgrading the ps3 version because of the 360 version eludes me. So you are saying SE threw the textures and 3d models they clearly had (proof is screenshot numero uno) and went "well we could run it at 60fps with 4x AA but i kindof dont feel like it, what do you guys say". Was kindof interested in VA but all the negative reviews made me think twice. With the Weekend deal i decided to give it a go and i must say i am really enjoying it. It is not 90-100 game but i really think it didnt deserve the 60 metacritic. Personally id probably go with 75ish. Gameplay feels a little bit like the older Splinter Cells with a little Hitman in the mix. Both games i really like myself.

the 360 always scaled DVD's up. Just not over Component Cables. If you used a VGA cable you got upscaled DVD's. You get Upscaling with HDMI too.
The Reason for this is that the DVD Copy Control Association ruled that CSS protected DVD's can only be copied over secured connections and resolutions. For Analog connections this is Macrovision. Macrovision doesnt work with 720p and up so if any player outputs DVD's at these resolutions they are no longer standards compliant. VGA Cab...
I know a few people (girls mostly) who like the FF series. So i think that there is a market but not all of them have a console.
I think its more a business decision for SE than for MS. With what i've seen so far from FF13 its a damn expensive game. So going Multiplatform in Europe and North America where both consoles are pretty much head on head with each other is a logical choice. If the playstation would have sold alot better than it did it would still be an exclusive.
Disclaimer: MGS4 was my first Metal Gear game and i liked it. So most things i say are based on comparison to other Stealth games (Thief, Splinter Cell) or games with Stealth elements (Deus Ex, Assassins Creed)
