Is it not Sony that gave these developers the canvas they work from? Is it not Sony that gives these developers the resources and support to help them complete their projects?

Sony understands what its userbase wants and delivers on it. That is something its userbase respects and appreciates.

Except the investors ARE getting paid. Take a look at the history of Microsoft's income statement: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/...

For the last 3 years they've had an average net income of $15.438 billion. That is pure profit that applies to investors.

Remember that Microsoft is extremely profitable, so they can take a $1 billion hit and still be extremely profitable. Als...

I've been gaming for almost 20 years, starting with the Nintendo Entertainment System. I've cared about motion control since I knew it was an option.

I thought one of the coolest games to play were those arcade games with the gun accessories, like Time Crisis, which some may consider a precursor to modern motion control. When the Wii came out, I thought it was cool, and I even enjoyed playing some Wii games, such as tennis and boxing. However, it became apparent to...

The more casual games require only 1 Move controller per person. Some more advanced games require 2 Move controllers. Some games work best with 1 Move controller and 1 directional controller, but you can instead use 1 Move controller and 1 Dualshock 3 for directional control.

I think the best setup for any PS3 user to get the most logical use of PS Move is to buy 2 Move controllers and 1 directional controller. That is MRSP of 50 + 50 + 30, or $130, if the PS3 owner alread...

I'm sorry, what does 150-200 have to do with anything?

Good point :D

Keep in mind that $1 billion is not much for Microsoft. It seems like a lot because it is a lot for us, but Microsoft makes so much revenue (and they're so extremely profitable) that it is chump change for them. Also, the reports were that they "set aside $1 billion" to repair the RROD, not that they necessarily exhausted all those funds to repair the RROD.

While the new design is sexy and attractive for many, I feel there are still some oversights (intentiona...

Except we're not done with what the current generation of consoles can produce visually. I'm a graphics junkie too, and the PS3 still has a lot of steam left. Especially with Move and 3D, I hope to have no news of a new console for at least another 2 years.

I completely agree with you there. Sorcery came out of nowhere and pleasantly surprised me. It shows great potential and looks to be great fun. I suspect this will be the "killer app" that showcases the potential.

Until it releases, we will have SOCOM 4 to fill the gap :D

Microsoft was handing them out during its E3 press conference.

One of the major gaming sites even demonstrated what happens to your games when you move the new 360.

Talk about inaccuracy!

So then how can it accomplish "walk-on multiplayer" and "disregard other objects and people" at the same time?

That's actually awesome! Imagine playing as Squall with the Lionheart. You can finally actually swing the Move and squeeze the trigger to shoot the gunblade in game :D

You're right about the melon slicing. That's the result of the single slicing animation that the creators of that game built into each fruit getting sliced, not a result of improper tracking. The point of that game is to be a cheap thrill that markets motion control to the casual crowd (that doesn't look for or need the level of precision the core gamer expects), so having one or two slicing animations is fine to illustrate the main point that you have chopped the fruit.

While Kinect does provide a cool new way to interface with your entertainment center, it is kinda sad that's about the only thing it provides for the core gamer. Is it really worth it to purchase Kinect solely for that purpose? On a side note, I thought it was weird how the actors at MS' press conference kept prefacing every command they gave with "Xbox, ____". For me it got annoying very quickly. I understand that something is needed for Kinect to differentiate between ...

I remember my cousins were so excited for the Wii, they got one as soon as it was available. They played it and they loved it... for a while. Six months later they stopped using it, and it has been collecting dust since. It really was like a fad that was short lived, compared to both the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles, which are still used by most of their owners years after they were purchased.

Anyway, to stay on topic, it was interesting to see the response Move was getting. ...

That is being silly.

Does Blockbuster give you a "trial" on a PS3 game rental? Does BJ's Wholesale / Sam's Club give you a "trial" on their membership discounts to evaluate the service? No.

You need to think about if this service will work for you or not. Do you like to play PS1 games? PSN games? PS Minis? If so, you get access to 48 such games a year with your subscription. 48 games for $50 is worth the price itself. Then,...

You do know that Playstation Move is releasing September 15 in Europe, and September 19 in the US, right?

Anyway, the reason for delays in Europe is usually a result of a) localization issues, and b) getting content approved. There are different laws that must be adhered to, so it usually takes longer.

No, you get FOUR free games a month: 1 PSN game, 2 PS Minis, and 1 PS Classic. That is 48 games a year, for a $50 subscription. True, you only get to play those games while you are a member, but with all the great games out, and all the great content that is coming out, why wouldn't you be a member for the life of your PS3? If you look at it that way, those games will never expire.

Not to mention the discounts you get on the PS Store will allow you to purchase (and own...

Except PS+ is NOTHING like Xbox Live!

The Playstation Network is more akin to Xbox Live, the main difference being that the PSN is FREE and XBL costs $50 a year. Their primary function is to allow gamers to play games online, and provide the other basic features we've come to expect in an online service.

PS+ is very different. In fact, the only similarity between PS+ and XBL is the cost of $50 a year.

What makes PS+ different is that it...
