i think people DO need to realise that being a pc gamer is a luxury for people who
1.) know at least the basics of computers
2.) have the money to trick out at least a mid-range rig.
3.) have the time to build, optimize, and troubleshoot it.

i might pick up a xbone, IF their exclusive lineup warrants it, and they make a kinect-less sku... since i'd only play the exclusives on it, they'd need over 10 to justify a purchase imo... same goes for the wii-u, which is why i'm planning on getting a wii-u maybe in 2015.

i don't think 1st party games are gonna save the wii-u, simply bacause nintendos current stance is, "come play our game, but you won't be playing anybody elses here!" people don't buy consoles for even 8 great games. the wii had to hit 10 great first party games before i picked one up. by then it was almost 4 years old, and really cheap!

lots of good consoles don't sell like they should. i don't think the quality of the console is in question. nintendo had a year to market the system, and failed when the competition was dusty 7 year old hardware... now that the new tech is out? i think nintendo officially missed their window of opportunity with the wii-u, and +20mil lifetime should be their optimistic target. i'm not sure it will get there to be honest. good luck nintendo!

power isn't everything. if i was going to build a gaming pc from scratch to replace mine, (lets say it died in a fire! lol) i'd have to spend at least $1,000... not because i couldn't game on a $500 pc, but because if i had to run stuff at min settings, i think the "ease of use" of consoles would make me not want to bother with a pc... i didn't bother dl'ing games on...
