just playing terreria on steam for the first time this week, about 5hrs in and its pretty cool, although for my first character i kinda wish i picked easy or hard, the middle one where you lose your items on death is kinda punishing when you're first learning the games systems...
but im past that now and got my godly ice sword that shoots ice blasts, so its all good! love it! and got it on a steam sale for $2.49, cant beat that!
ill give you that SM3DW is better than knack. but the average age of gamers in general is around 30. so based on purely #s, catering to the less than 10 crowd SHOULD be something thats done more sparingly.
look at the games that sell really well. its all games that someone whos and adult won't feel embarresed about playing... although i think that SM3DW is fantastic, i don't think the ad that has a girl pick up the wiiu tablet and magically transforms into a cat s...

the longer they talk about the cloud crap and dont show it, the more im convinced its BS... put up 2 xbones on 2 tvs, and SHOW me the difference between a game hooked up to the cloud and a game stand-alone. its the same "it'll be awesome, so have faith" crap you hear in politics and elsewhere, and its usually all hot air...
lets get this outta the way, i love ninty (who doesn't?) and owned an nes, n64, gamecube, and wii... i don't think ill get a wiiu, unless there is a model with a SUBSTANTIAL price drop. How? ditch the damn tablet controller! nobody likes it (based on sales), its not essential (based on its useless, tacked on features on most games), and its EXPENSIVE! if the ps4 had been $50 more to add the trackpad to the ds4, i'd have said drop it! lol, i didnt say a k/b wasn't better for an arpg or strategy game, i said a keyboard and mouse isn't COMFORTABLE to use... i can sit and play games on my ps4 for literally 8 hours straight. try sitting at a desk that long, it is nowhere near as comfortable as sitting with you feet kicked up in the living room, or sprawled out on the couch... i even have a $200 computer chair, and after about 1-2 hours, im done.

Whether we're talking about playing with a comfy controller from the couch, or the lack of upgrading every year, to the sloppy installs and fractured format for the PC, there are lots of convenience based reasons to play on console... I don't think its possible to comfortably play with k+m! just like typing on this damn touchscreen will never be as comfy as a real keyboard...

dw displays about 12X as many models on-screen as a game like GOW or TLoU or UC3 or Ryse or many other corridor games you've seen... frankly if the ps4 can produce 150 of her on-screen at the same time, im impressed

the best thing valve can do is set up displays that let people like us TRY the controller... that is, if its good! if its bad, it'd be better to just let people buy it blind LOL!
also, the thing about the controller is that, like the DS4 or xbone controller, it will work with EVERY game on the steam machine... adding a DS4 or xbone or 360 controller dosen't make it universally compatible with steam games, this one will be. so wether it sucks or not really matters ...
call me a "skeptic" but i think the trackpads on the steam controller are going to suck hard. think about the agruments we've heard for the past 8 years about alternative controls for games...

Lotsa people will probably get what their friends got... I picked up a ps4 on launch, now 3 of us have one... Early adopters are important, once 6 or 7 of us have one, who's gonna rock the boat with an xbone? Because if ALL my friends bought xbones, I'd get one too (even though I'd be disgusted with myself lol) because I'd want to PLAY WITH MY FRIENDS

its important to read the opinion of someone like this, because remember, %90 of consumers (not gamers) are in this realm about video games in general... they take things into consideration we wouldn't dream of, like the size of the console, and that NFS has more action, even though it might not be a better game. And yes, even casuals think the cameras creepy LOL
