hopefully they look at FFXIV, and see what a complete redesign can do for you. Never played the first FFXIV, (heard it was awful.), but A Realm Reborn is simply spectacular. The cutscenes and characters make it feel like a full fledged FF, and the gameplay is fast, deep, and makes each class fun in its own way. I heard none of these things applied for the original FFXIV.

nobody here knows the contract between the 2 companies. im sure there are multiple ways each company can get outta their end of the bargain completely legally.
companies don't stick their necks out without a plan B. Multi-plat would be EA's plan B. I make no judgements on whether it will go to ps4 or not, but if it did, im sure EA would know before hand whether or not they were within their legal rights, before they worked on a ps4 port.

I bet the real reason is they want devs to put motion controls (via the lightbar) into their games, and if you CAN turn it off, most people will. Then, when they push devs to take advantage of it, they'll get the response "most people have the lightbar off, were not investing in it."

i dunno, ive only got a 1.5 k/d on ghosts, and i have a lot of fun with it. every once in a while i'll get something impressive (over 10 killstreak!), but not often, maybe once a day. I think theres still plenty of room for us slightly above/below average players!

THIS is why that argument falls flat. sure, companies like money, but you can make it a respectable way, like PS+ or flash sales, or you can be anti-consumerist and support overbearing DRM, XBL gold subs so people can watch netflix, and hardware bundled with your system that nobody wants... Sony might want money, but they ask to trade you for something awesome. M$ just holds you upside down and shakes.

Agreed! this version is awesome, im playing through with my wife right now, im a lvl 18 thaumaturge, shes a lvl 17 gladiator... i really like how the general gameplay between our classes is completely different. just started up my archer class and cant wait to try it out more. Square did a hell of a job on this game, now to convince more people that a sub isn't the end of the world.

maybe because its set up less as a simulation, and more like a game of paintball! lotsa action, little downtime, some strategy, but the match will be decided on your skill and reflexes.
dont get me wrong, i love BF too, but its a completly different beast, the only thing they share is the "army men with guns" theme. its like saying madden and NFL Blitz were similar. kinda. but not really.
its just cool to hate on COD, but not madden, fifa, tiger woods, killzone, battlefield, halo, gears of war, god of war, uncharted, assassins creed, etc...
All these games pretty much do the same thing COD does. all of these games are VERY similar to their sequels, minus the graphical upgrades. if they changed too much, they'd tick off their core fanbase. you dont really want a winning formula to change too much. Also, there are alot more people enjoying their copies ...
