EA is basically pure greed (thus getting 1 or 2 worst company awards)
But EA has been on it's best behavior for about the past 18mos or so...
Server maintenance isn't cheap... It's tough to keep a server running on a 7yr old game, and only 1000 people max will log in and play for the year. Servers cost a TON of money to maintain, and your definitely not generating any revenue from said game any longer, because most likely the people playing ...
It will be harder for the other companies, because they don't offer a ton of variety...
EA offers:
Yearly iteration sports
Yearly iteration racing
Yearly iteration FPS
RPG's
Smaller Arcade Games
Other pubs wouldn't have the enough "yearly iterations" to keep their respective "Vault" feeling fresh, and they know it, thus wanting to piggy back off EA
There are people who are giving the lamest reasons for why EA Access isn't good... Either are salty about the service, or genuinely have no clue on how the services works...
Everyone can agree that EA is a sketchy company... But Access is one of those things they are doing right (as long as the traditional EA greed doesn't kick in of course)... But the best part is, if anyone feels that EA is getting a little to greedy with the service, they are welcome to cancel at...

Getting discounts on EA Games, and getting games put into the Vault for you to download (NO STREAM) at your leisure... you don't have to uninstall the game even when your sub runs out... you either re-up your Access or buy the game... No save data or anything is deleted... Or maybe you only wanted to play Dragonage for a month... you beat it and now your done... Gue...

Both Sony and MS have given games that range from meh to awesome...(IMHO)

did you really just say underwhelming? this is a device that DOESN'T depend on graphics processing from an outside source and doesn't seem to over heat (any kind of pc like components in small tight space equals HOT)...

EA made a mistake by going away from what Dead Space was.. A survival horror game...

microsoft has made it more than clear that hololens isn't ready for consumers. it's just gotten ready for developers.
microsoft has also made it very clear that hololens is NOT a gaming platform. they showed tech demos that it has enough juice to do cheesy gaming, but that's not a primary thing for hololens.
