Well aslong as the option is there, remember they are not fighting each but working along side one another so it doesn't matter. Also its more about bringing friends together for co-op, trust me i've played with morons on gears of war co-op and in the end was still fun trying to get them out of sticky situations. Isnt it obvious since PCs can be loaded up with 2 Gigs of ram which can hold much more textures than the xbox 360 or ps3. But bang for buck the 360 version is still the top, people reported than this game chugs even on an Nvidia 8800 GTS with 2 Gigs of ram and an intel core 2 but those are typically running at higher resolutions but none the less it was hard to even make it playable.
