If you don't have a 360, this is an awesome bundle to pick up. Alan Wake was brilliant, Gears 2 is a load of fun, Halo Wars was an impressive RTS, Fable 3 was a really fun and relaxing WRPG, and Halo 3 is a classic shooter from the early end of this gen.
If Sony released the equivelant on thier platform (heavy rain, uncharted 2, etc) I would be very inclined to snatch one up.

Sony USED the playstation fanbase (which rightfully respected Sony after phenominal PS1 and PS2 generations) to sell an insanely priced system for the intent to win the format war.

MP (competetive, a least) is a waste. To those who think otherwise, let me ask you this: how many people REALLY play assassins creed, bioshock, overlord, etc MP modes online. REALLY.

Japan never accepted the 360 even when back in 2006-2009, back when it was cheaper and had more games than the PS3 did. Why? Simple. I am definitely buying Gears 3 and passing on UC3.
Because I only own a 360.
Both look amazing. Gears and UC will have awesome MP (one more focused on intimate firefights, one with action movie set pieces). Both will have a great campaign (one co-op focused, one solo focused) and both will have replayable co-op side modes (horde 2.0 and arena).
If you have both systems and pass on either, I would seriously be stunned.
XBL has always had an amazing slew of titles on XBLA (combination of multiplat, timed exclusive, and exclusive). I own 50 or so arcade games and have loved most of em.
Either way, no matter what the platform, a great game is a great game.
Lastly, I still suspect a PS3 version in a year or so. Limbo and CC did the same.

Developers are putting less content in titles than years past...charging for DLC that is sometimes on disc...charging for online passes if you get it used...etc. Where does it end?
As for used sales...cars...media...etc...h ave been doing this for years.
Companies like EA have millions/billions to buy up comapnies like popcap, work on uber expensive projects, etc.
Game developes need to focus on less massi...
I don't believe used game sales are the horrid beast game companies want us to think.
EA is one who has worked with selling online passes, locked content on disc as dlc, etc, yet has to be banking regardless as they spent ONE BILLION on popcap (whatever the company's name was) recently. If used sales were hitting them as hard as they want you to believe, they wouldnt have that kind of cash to dish out at will.

I rarely support comments that bash a groups fanboys openly...but the positive reaction to the sony pass, in comparison to the negative response to articles like this, does give your point some validity
I disagree with you 100%, even though I respect your right to your personal taste.
For me, Gears is a more intense, gritty, and kick ass experience in comparison to uncharted. UC is a fine title and all, but it just didnt hit home with me on the same level that Gears 3 did.
I am with the belief that Sony asked ND to hype up the 3D so they can push more TV's. The common gamer reaction to 3D (in its current state) is that it is not meant for long gaming sessions, graphical quality plummets, etc.
Even a well-received game maker like ND is unlikely to make a definitive 3D experience by years end.
This just keeps looking better and better. Beta showed the MP is amazing, this trailer shows how kick ass it will be, and if the campaign can match its other parts, I think we might have a GOTY winner on our hands.

Its a fun game with some solid laughs, good gunplay, and some interesting levels.
I can't fathom the 2-4 range scores. And I wonder who many people who are bashing the game (comments sections of these reviews) have actually played it. I rarely see quality criticisms that reflect moments in the game, vice generic complaints.
I believe most critics are being "haters" and riding the bandwagon.
For example, if you look on a core gaming site like true achievements, the average user score is the equivelant of a 7.5/10, stressing fun factor over some smaller issues. The mainstream review average is 3+ points below that.
I refuse to buy into the reviewer BS vice the opinions of real gamers.

I definitely think this year's GOTY race between UC3, Gears 3, and Skyrim is going to be too close to call.
