2 - Point 1 doesn't matter. Virtually everything is a rip these days. As long as Sony does their fans well and makes a great game, how is it a bad thing?
If MS would let me pit MC against Fenix or Dom, a Crackdown agent, hammer (Fable), Kaim (LO), etc, I would be all damn for it.

I'm with the majority on this one. I usually "do the rounds" on the net every couple days at worst, and had no clue WTF this game was even about, what its name was, or what console/consoles it was going to be on.
But another FPS in an over-saturated market? I don't think Sony is losing out on anything too amazing here. (unless it turns out to be the best FPS ever in which case I will eat these words)
Bioware has the right to create. So I do agree with you only when discussing the right to make a work, and to not have to change it based on audience demands.
However, we the audience have the right to evaluate critique an discuss. If they have the right to make a product, we have the right to praise or insult it. Its the creator-audience balance.

I would love to see some kind of statistics in regards to how many of those 1 million sold the game back within a week.
I thought the game had promise and decided to give it a buy. I was reminded why rentals are important, and why you need to focus on who is making the game, vice the concepts of the game and early pre-game media such as picturs and videos of gameplay.

I couldnt agree more with FFT-2 and KI3. I would absolutely lose it if either was announced.

Was the writing in the gears games amazing? Not at all. The worst writing in games, in general? Nope. Most of the TPS/FPS space is filled with weak stories and worlds. You play gears for the amazing gameplay. Nothing more, nothing less.
And its really classy to trash other developers...

The trailer was a bit...weak. But the game looks like it could be a blast. If the accuracy of movement holds up, this could be a gift to all DBZ fans
@tai - From what I have seen, I would dare to say 51% or more of the peopel who have beaten ME3 have criticized it for its lack of clarity, relevance, and consistency.
And it is bad not only due to its lack of quality in comparison to the rest of ME3 and the series, but also due to it was the end of a 5 year adventure. It is so bad because the rest was so amazing, that something so below the standard of quality was nothing shy of shocking
Although I agree with the recommendation (the game is 98% amazing) I dont agree with your statement.
Criticizing (or praising) a game is an essential right of the consumer. Just as bioware has the right to make its art as it sees fit, we the consumers have the right to critique what they made. And while SOME people whined about it, others genuinely discussed and critiqued the ending.

Has Sony sold more than the 360? yes and no. If you cant the entire generation, no, MS has more 360s out there as of today. So they are in third place. If you count yearly averages, MS has been outdone by Sony, who has sold more per year than MS. So they are in second place.
Although IMO, Sony going from the first place juggernaut to fighting to stay out of third place is not necessaril...

They are not changing the ending. They are simply providing information so people dont have to guess or debate on what actually happened.
In my opinion, they balanced their right to create with the fans right to knowledge excellently.
This is the perfect way to handle the issue.
On one hand, they WONT change the ending, which is the right thing to do. It doesn't matter if we think the ending was a let down (which I personally do, felt like a fizzle not a bang) they have the right to make what they see fit (as we have the right to assess it as consumers). Is it sad that THIS might be the game to get me to pick up a PS3? I have been on the fence for awhile as several games have looked like a lot of fun. But getting to fight people as PaRappa? That seems priceless.
