Games like this always make decsnt profits at low selling points. Disgaea games have always sold like this but they keep making them. This is why.
Great game btw.
Not to mention we may even see another Zelda on Switch using the same engine in a few years. The game was fantastic, but there is still plenty to improve on. A timely sequel with fan feedback from the first game can easily surpass it as well.
Switch could easily handle it, even if on lower settings. As for character models, see Cia from Hyrule Warriors.
It would be on NCSoft servers, like PS4 and final fantasy 14 so your concern is a nonfactor.
I am really loolong forward to Mario O and Xenoblade 2, but I also have to check out the new Assassin's Creed and Far Cry 4.
This holiday is going to be insane.
I think the PS4 will take it for sure, but mainly due to stock issues with the Switch. If not for shortages, it would be a much closer race.
The Switch will beat the X1 outright however.
Please be Switch. It should be able to run this and having an MMO on the go would be great!
BotW is easily GotY and one of the best games we have seen in over a decade. The open air concept may not be for everyone, I get that. But the quality of the game is undeniable.
It deserves all of the praise it gets. Most of the nay sayers are either pissed off fanboys from other camps who have never played the game or old school Zelda fans who just want a traditional Zelda title. The old school fans I can understand, this type of gameplay may not be their cup of tea. ...
"Why would you choose a game on Switch when you can get it on WiiU?"
Probability
It is a software glitch...patch the damn software!
There, I just found a better solution...
In terms of gameplay and visual appeal, it is on par with the other two consoles. However that does not mean that it is as demanding. Nintendo just happens to use styles that can look great and be less demanding in the process.
However you are right, the WiiU could be running this. Just like the WiiU could run most of the PS4 and X1 library during the first 2 years if they developed for it. Cause you know, most of the games were also on the 360 and PS3...which is weaker...
Yeah, but something that horrible could not possibly exist...right?........rriiiigg ht?
*glances at my X1*
OMG, GET IT AWAY FROM ME!
*runs in fear shouting a blood curdling scream*
When they actually start charging, I will judge. No point in trying to do it now as it is still free.
@Legion
It is a portable that runs console caliber games that can be run on the TV. The only reason they said that is so the 3DS would live a bit longer. Once the 3DS is done, they will market it much more like a handheld, I asure you.
@ED
So you admit a "last gen" game like BotW being a top GotY contender? Man your flawed logic cracks me up!
ED
BotW is a top GotY contender. WiiU or not, it is still current gen. You are reaching bud.
Also tell me the last time you saw visuals like Mario O on a portable? Yeah I thought so.
Again, visuals alone do not define a gen.
@Mr-Dude
Breath of the Wild, Mario O, and Xenoblade are every bit as current gen Caliber in terms of gameplay, scale, and mechanics. Just because they sport fantastic visuals based on art style instead of a more realistic style does not change that fact. This is an example of how power is not everything.
You really need to get your facts straight because realistic visuals, while nice, do not define current gen. So with just the three I mentioned, it ha...
Considering that it is a handheld that can handle current gen caliber games, yes it is on the same level. Sony went with 4K, Nintendo went with portability. There is no reason these two different directions cannot co exist. Any idot can see that.
What makes Switch better...
1. Portability in general
2. Fantastic exclusives not found on PS4
3. Controllers that dont die in less than five hours when docked
...
There are a lot of reasons the Switch is better than the PS4, but there are some drawbacks as well.
The Switch is a portable console that you can play on the TV. It plays current gen caliber games and has an exclusive library in the works that is worth investing in. In short, it is more than a "valid" gaming machine. It is just not a 4K machine.
As I always say, PS4 rules the dedicated console race.
Switch rules the handhe...
Negative, the joy cons are patented by Nintendo. Gamevice made something that could slid onto a tablet, thats it.
The joy cons can not only connect to the switch, but work as stand alone controllers, motion controllers, or as a regular controller.
They are two very different things that share one minor detail. The most that will come from it is a settlement, if that.
