The X1 is a glorified steambox with windows store. If you have a PS4, you can play the best games on X1.
The Switch actually gives PS4 or even X1 owners a reason to buy it due to a lot of heavy hitting exclusives. X1 will be destroyed by Switch as a whole, not just X1X.
Agreed!
Mario is about as big of a holiday system seller as it gets. Plus you have to figure to most of the people getting a Switch during the Holiday, BotW will be a new experience as well. They have a new IP in ARMs and Splatoon 2 to check out as well. Not to mention Xenoblade 2 and Fire Emblem Warriors serving as extra support.
So yeah, while it won't outright destroy the competition, it can certainly hang with the big boys. The Switch will do ...
I preorder all of my games on amazon. I get free two day shipping and get a 10 dollar preorder discount. And if the game is preordered, it is on my doorstep the day it releases when I get home from work.
That is just games alone. When you factor in all of the discounts from other things you order (cause again, free two day shipping), amazon prime actually SAVES you money in the long run. Do the math, it really is the best way to shop these days.
Mario Kart 8 and Pokken are the only WiiU ports.
Splatoon 2, ARMs, Mario O, Mario Rabbids, and Fire Emblem Warriors are all Switch exclusives. Not to mention the best version of BotW as well.
The PS4 and X1 had 3 or 4 lackluster exclusives their first year and everything else was playable on the PS360.
That said, Switch first year line up is indeed the best we have seen in a LONG time from any console maker.
@Omnislash
No, the difference between the PS4 and the mid range PC is comparable with the difference between mobile devices and the Switch. The Switch is a handheld that can play console caliber games and output to the TV, the PS4 is a home console.
Get your facts straight and think before you post and proclaim things as "stupid".
Much like how the PS4 was weaker than affordable mid range PCs. Dont pick and choose, this is common.
Mobile games are no where near dedicaded handheld/console games, period. Your argument regarding power is obsolete outside of performance heavy PS4 games. And like I always said, PS4 owners actually have a reason to buy a Switch due to exclusives and vice versa. They can co exist.
So as long as the games keep coming, there is no problem...well they ne...
I see the Switch passing the 3DS in sales, but not the Wii. The Wii and PS2 were an enigma.
@EDMIX
By the number of disagrees you have, leave console marketing to the big three and stick to your day job.
I don't even need to try to counter anything you just said. You did a good enough job of it yourself by trying far too hard. ;)
I do not understand these disagrees. The Switch has an amazing line up for exclusives 1st year and the superior version of the new Zelda. ARMs is doing great and is a blast to play and Splatoon is a fun shooter experience that you cannot find anywhere else. We also have Xenoblade 2, Mario Rabbids, Mario Oddesy, and Fire Emblem Warriors coming in the holiday. There is also a chance that Kirby and Yoshi could drop in Jan and Feb, making it part of the first year. It has far more quality ex...
@EDMIX
I find it funny how you say "crap that you did not want from the WiiU."
You know how many of those ports you keep talking about add up to be? Two...just two...Mario Kart and Pokken.
Zelda was a cross gen release, but not an old port and a GotY contender. Arms is a successful and fun new IP and Splatoon 2 is the next entry in yet another successful new IP.
Mario Rabbids is looking to turn out better ...
I believe building on the Switch is where it is at for Nintendo. I have my PS4 for traditional, I want my Switch for portable. The ablility to play the games on my TV just a huge plus. Besides, looking at BotW and Mario Oddesy alone shows that the tech is more than capable of running current gen console games. The focus will be making them portable though instead of 4K.
Nintendo needs to set itself apart from PS and XBox. They have found a market that they can and shou...
Could this possibly mean a sequel is on the horizon?
I am not bashing your personal taste. I am saying that regardless of your personal taste, the Switch has a higher quality line up of exclusive games to choose from that has a much broader appeal than the PS4 or X1 during their launch year. I am not saying that you in particular should go out and get a Switch right now. I am saying that the argunent that many try to use saying (Switch has no games) is total BS as it has far more to offer than the other two big competitiors during their laun...
Their launches are not the same because in the first year the PS4 had a total of 3 games that were not also released on the PS360 (Knack, Killzone, and Infamous) and the X1 was not much better.
The Switch has ARMs, Splatoon 2, Mario Rabbids, Xenoblade 2, Fire Emblem Warriors, Mario Oddesy, and 1, 2 Switch. That is 8 true exclusives in less than 9 months compared to the three or four the PS360 had in a whole year. Not only that, but they are all quality exclusives except f...
It is also about whats tp come. ARMs was a successful new IP, Splatoon 2 is huge, Xenoblade 2 is huge, Mario is just as big (if not a bigger deal) than Zelda, and the future seems to be on track with Kirby, Yoshi, METROID FKING PRIME 4, and a console core Pokemon game. It is not only about the here and now, but also the not so distant future.
Having a top contender for GotY playable on the go at launch helps as well. And FYI, there are only two WiiU ports. Mario Kart 8 ...
@pistol
Two consoles with a combined install base much lower than the PS4.
Horizon had a better launch, but both were stellar.
Zelda had better legs and has passed it in sales despite having a fraction of the install base, but Horizon sold very well for a new IP.
Why can't people just accept the truth regardless of their camp and feel happy that these two games exist?
@Skull521
If you are gaming on PC, you are not worried about either console. Even as far as console exclusives go, PS4 outshines X1 by far. Most exclusives on the X1 either turn out to be rubbish or canceled, regardless of PC.
And all Switch 1st party games stay on Nintendo devices, so that argument is quite strong there as well, maybe more so.
So again, X1 is by far the weakest link in my eyes.
I will take the portability with the exclusives of the Switch as well as the exclusive library of the PS4 (even on standard sku) over the xbox1x, which will have next to no exclusives, anyday.
It just seems like a waste of money. If I want true 4k for games I can play anyway, I will go all in on PC. MS is currently the weakest link in the console market in my eyes.
I often wonder that as well. The damand seems higher in the US and while the Switch is still selling well in EU, they may not have the same supply issues.
If this is true, this would seem like a viable option.
Yeah I was being nice lol, but thats why I said with Windows store.
