Did you experience the visual problems too? I couldn't have been the only one.
Been looking for an excuse to pick this up. Looks like I just got it. Woo!
I used to buy a fair amount of stuff on eBay - only ever sold on there once though, and it was such a hassle I never wanted to do so again after that.
Alternatives to eBay are always a good thing to have, especially ones that avoid those extra fees you mentioned. I may have to check them out. Hrmmm.
Hey, I didn't own my first PC until 2000, so I missed a lot of those classics too.
Also, for those interested, we're giving away a copy of Doom II XBLA on the site. Check it out.
We appreciate it. To be fair, there are others out there covering the Indie marketplace too, but we saw a niche that needed to be filled and to be frank, Microsoft's not doing such a great job of helping promote or make the whole experience user friendly. If our feature can help people out, we're glad.
We try ;)
Ugh - I sunk SO many hours into the original PS2 version. I'm tempted to pick this up when I have the cash, just to try it again from the female MC's point of view. Still, I have yet to finish P4. I should probably do that first ;P
@That: Well, it's still worth a look, if nothing else. We're not just giving away that - there's a couple other things in there too. And I was a bit hasty saying "today" - we're going to be STARTING the contest today, but it'll probably be running through the week. We usually give stuff away on Sat or Sun.
If you guys wanna be even cheaper about it, we're going to be giving away a free copy on the site today. The contest is going to be going up on CFD! in a little while. Check back.
Not to sound self-serving then, but be sure to check the Indie-Dome out weekly. ;)
It's a hell of a lot easier than digging through everything yourself.
Hey, it could be worse. I JUST started playing the first SMG a few weeks ago.
You do have to realize that only playing two races and getting them no higher than level 14, he wouldn't honestly get to see too much of the overarching story. Just food for thought.
Yeah, the entire point of this series has been to take a look at the game through the eyes of somebody with virtually no MMO experience. Dustin going into it without any preparation or research (ie: finding out that the Succubus wasn't a hunter pet) was kind of part of the idea.
The point wasn't to review the game - it was just somebody new to the experience trying to see what all the hype was about during his week of vacation. Nothing more. :)
It is a good question. I got my 360 before I had an HDTV and had to give up on Dead Rising for the infamous SD text being unreadable issue.
Sure, HDTV penetration is increasing, but I don't see why on Earth, at least for say, the next SEVERAL years, they don't include a standard def option as well. We're not asking for you to reprogram the game - just futz the UI or bump up the font sizes a bit.
Mind you, now that I have my HDTV, it doesn't ma...
If by new you mean console port of a PC title that came out last year, sure. ;)
Still, it's worth a look.
I really enjoyed it, despite its flaws.
I wish more games were willing to try to capture that same surreal, dream-like state that Zeno Clash seemed to pull off so effortlessly.
There were indeed a lot of good ones that week.
Lot of bad ones too, but eh - what can you do? The developer of 7strains left us a comment and said he was actually in the process of fixing some of the problems we pointed out with it (we weren't the only ones I guess ;P) and that he appreciated the coverage, even if we branded it a failure.
With more devs were level-headed like that.
I've always wished that games would handle "kill-stealing" by just awarding the kill to the player who did the majority of the damage, not the person who "tapped" them first. If you're working as a team, who really cares if you get credit for the kill or not so long as your team wins, right?
...right?
That being said, I wish every team-based multiplayer shooter credited for assists.
Gotta love devs dodging around questions ;P
Still, one of my most anticipated games of next year. I really need to go back and finish the original...
