I'm surprised Alan Wake's resolution is that low, goes to show that resolutions can be insignificant, as regardless of the lower than expected resolution, Alan Wake, alongside the original BioShock, is one of Xbox 360's greatest, yet under-rated games (imo).
Exactly, and Reseident Evil remakes being on GameCube was always something I was envious of at the time, had they become multiplatform or at least released on either PS2 or Xbox I'd have bought them instantly.
I love Nintendo, and they'll always have a special place in my memory from child-hood, but they are way behind the times. The sooner they go the way of the Dreamcast the better, I'd love to play their games on either of the new consoles, and have proper onli...
If were talking best 360 games of all time... and that list doesn't include BioShock, Alan Wake or Left 4 Dead - well, that's just meh.
The article insinuates at the end that no game is running on Xbox One. I am pretty certain that Forza 5, Ryse and Dead Rising 3 have already been seen running on Xbox One hardware at recent public events - and visually they certainly impress.
I don't doubt that there's troubles for third-parties, and that PS4 will ultimately be easier to adapt games for based on it being the equivalent of a decent gaming PC by today's standards.
I wouldn't r...
That's exactly it. I think the big concern by mass amounts of gamers, myself included, was the fear of potential problems with internet access - and regular online check-in's which were a requirement for the simple fact that the disc does not need to be in the drive, and naturally I expect Microsoft used that as an excuse to crush the used market too.
They were never going to get away with it though. I mean, had they been doing day-1 game releases digitally like Sony...
Yup, the only potential barrier here is excessive pricing. It would be nice to think that digital would be cheaper, but doing so would obviously piss off relationships that console manufacturers have with retailers. So long as they match price at a new game's release, then I can accept that.
If it proves a success, I wouldn't at all be surprised a year from Xbox One's launch to walk into a game store, pick up a display case for a game, take it to the counter, and ...
@AceBlazer13 Don't forget, we're being steered in the direction of digital, not everyone is welcoming to that fact, but for that to have a chance of success there has to be some parity with digital vs. phsical media.
If I own a physical disc, I can lend that to an unlimited amount of people, I can sell it - I can even throw it in the bin if I so choose. We are fortunate that consumers were in an uproar, and I'm sure Sony's cheap-shots helped, but I am relieved...
Bear in mind those 10 select people can not access the same game at the same time. It's a set-up that's meant to mimic the freedom of disc lending as we know it today, the only +1 for digital was that the original owner can play regardless of what his friends are doing.
So let's say at launch I own Dead Rising 3, Ryse and Battlefield 4. As the owner I can play any of my games regardless of what my friends are doing. So, I'm on Battlefield 4, one of my friends ...
Yeah, it's not possible for disc-based games due to not being required to be online anymore. However, for games purchased digitally, it's certainly possible. The concern with discs was that you could install it, give it to a neighbour or friend, and everyone can share it - Microsoft would not know who owns the disc, hence the original restrictions. For digital purchases though that problem does not exist.
I would expect it to be a feature for Gold members as well. Let...
Next-Gen timed-exclusive of GTA V will do me for Xbox One launch day. FIFA 14 would be pretty crap as a free incentive, not everyone likes football after all, and CoD or Battlefield 4 are multiplatform, so packing them in whilst adding more value, the PS4 would still be cheaper - so it needs to be a (timed/next-gen) exclusive high-profile title to make an impact on sales for Xbox One.
Ryse just ain't going to cut it. Xbox has had shit stuck to it since the E3 reveal, and ...
Under the author's 'XBLA' section he says "In addition, they won’t be moving over Microsoft points, as a result a spending spree is in order for those who have a lot of points stockpiled."
That is actually false. While Microsoft points are retiring, the value is being converted to real currency, and that will go with you if you move onto Xbox One. Granted, they have a strange time-limit on our money, giving us 1-year to spend the money from when it's...
Should be a solid outing; rather relieved there's options still present for stealth - for those of us that don't want to go guns blazing.
Ms could do with narrowing that gap for enticement sake, they've dropped the policiies, the only real barrier now is price, and Kinect is certainly worth the extra in the long-term I am sure, but there's nothing significant their day one to justify that added cost.
Certainly if you add-on the cost of PS4's eye camera, the Kinect 2.0 will no doubt be much more versatile, but clearly not everyone wants it straight away, and no-one wants to pay an addition premium f...
The general public, or the Average Joe consumer will likely be confused by the name alone - Xbox One, that right there will be a stumbling block for an uninformed parent looking for the next console for Christmas, and I think the Kinect 2.0 ramping up the price is a factor for many, especially those who have played much of the crap released on Xbox 360 Kinect, though there were a handful of decent titles.
And when they enquire in-store about Xbox One, I believe every retailer...
Noob's running in like a headless chicken, still, at least he's showing how quick you can expect to get some meaty chunks taken out of your neck should it all go tits up.
Funny someone mentioned the cheers. I thought the cheers were odd, seeing as I expect it to be gaming's press that attended, would they really cheer TV channel hopping with your voice? Meh.
This is what I was thinking. The big sales come from the console version, so a PC delay is expected, and furthermore, with no next-gen version of the game announced - while we do expect it, it seems likely the quality and experience of GTA V across next-gen platforms will look to be as close as possible to the PC version.
I would go as far to say that I expect Next-Gen GTA V to be a launch title for the new consoles, and it just seems logical to have the PC version release a...
What if it works like this -- buy PS3 version digitally day-1 which then transfers over to your PS4. For example, when you hook up your new PS4 and sign-in, go to your download history, and maybe, just maybe there will be a swanky PS4 version waiting to download in place of the already purchased PS3 version. I only said maybe. ;)
It was only the other night where I got disconnected for a few hours for no apparent reason, it was back up and running hours later fine though - a rare occassion though it is.
It's annoying when that happens now, could you imagine being invested in a single-player game such as Skyrim or BioShock and your connection drops. At that point my box would likely be mid-air and heading for the wall. Regardless of rumours from so-so credible sources, I still can't see it hap...
