Exactly, some people seem to be personally insulted by this review.. i'm a huge naruto fanboy but common sense should prevail and there will be loads of reviews like this... sure the more well known websites will get someone more knowledgeable to review the game but ultimately the review scores will be around the same.. fan service games will never score high because there is never enough work done on them for them to hold enough appeal to anyone other than fans.
To be fair, there was a hell of a lot of errors in the review but still, who should review the game? Naruto fans? People will either get and love Naruto or think it's stupid and hate it.. I can't imagine there being a happy middle.
Not to mention naruto fans make up such a minor proportion of gamers out there. I think the large majority of people who are even slightly interested in the game would appreciate reviews from people who don't know nothing about naruto. ...
Or not.. WaW was poor.. not to mention if you bought it a year later you couldn't join half the mp games due to the fact activision conveniently didn't add an option to allow you to search for non dlc games. Was great joining a game thinking "woohoo i'm in" only to be told I needed to buy a map pack to play the specific map then get booted.
People are being way too harsh on the guy, yes it's essentially a fan service game.. so ofcourse a lot of reviews will be aimed at the mass audience and should be as it's them at the end of the day who are up in arms over this. For a fan it's going to be 5/5 for the fact its naruto and it's online. That's how I see it anyway.
I'm with RobotGeek here.. I LOVE naruto but I played the campaign on ultimate ninja 4 I think it was and it was bloody awful.. finding you way around mazes for no other reason than to add playing time to the campaign. I LOVE naruto but that had absolutely nothing to do with the anime.
I haven't checked the campaign in this however I won't hold my breath for something deep and compelling.
Simply put, it won't. Maybe there is something about Treyarch that I clearly can't see however i've bought or played every single cod game and Treyarch games just lack that something that makes the IW ones special.
^^^ Agreed.. if the pass actually meant something like access to dedicated servers.. it's not like it actually costs these companies a dime for them to have mp on their games (via xbox at least) the rubbish xbl servers are used which we already have to pay stupid fees for.
Whoever said I wanted reality? I just find it boring playing a game where you can just hold down the trigger to get kills. The lack of recoil just made the skill gap less and also took the fun out of using guns like the scar and tar as it was just far too easy to get kills with.
IM HERE!! Releasing it a few days before ninja storm = bad idea.. i'd have been interested in this but i'll be too pumped for ninja storm to care about a demo so close to release.
No recoil = no sale for me.. I love the idea of mixing the fast paced nature of mw2 with battlefield. However taking out the recoil is a joke and almost insulting to battlefield fans.. this is shaping up to be one of the worst games ever released with a DICE logo on it.
I hope you're being sarcastic.. mw2's recoil is non existent. Battlefield BC2 was about the right mixture of realism and fun in recoil.
Yes you can.. I used to use the famas mostly but if I ever struggled against players i'd just turn to the TAR and literally just hold down the trigger with stopping power.
Not the best move really peeing off your loyal fans when the most reputable race game in the last 12 years or so is releasing it's 5th iteration just around the corner. Never cared for forza much anyway but it's still sad to see such treatment of a games loyal fans.

Bad move by them.. the beta got waaay more criticisms than it did compliments.. I certainly won't be picking it up until I see good reviews and if the community takes off.

Players work in teams? Who the hell is this guy playing with? Last match I remember, my own teammate when crazy with the rocket launcher shooting it at every enemy he came across regardless if teammates were on the verge of beating the guy down (who had no shields.)

I guess it's more of an opinion piece but look at it from these guy's points of view.. for the most part it's a small site run by a few people. They receive a review copy of the game to review so done the best they could. While true a review should reflect a lot more on the game you can't expect every reviewer to go into each one with the same professionalism sites like IGN or Gamespot would do.
