Tunaks said about the same thing. Wii HD isn't needed. I'm just adding on the 'superior future tech doesn't necessarily make existing tech irrelevant' portion for the sake of the discussion.
It's your statement that that, in any way, is unexpected and yields a need for Nintendo to change their pace that is the assumption.
Also, there's a difference between the tech being superior and the tech making the Wii irrelevant. The Wii is already very relevant, and the peripherals MS and Sony are adding for their consoles is, highly likely, not going to change that.
Superior tech doesn't always yield best sales, or best relevancy. This generation proved that with...
Or, at least, your assumption that a declining Year over Year sales for hardware should at all be unexpected, as well as your assumption that MS and Sony's motion controllers will somehow make the Wii 'irrelevant.'
To say that a new system is going to be coming soon is one thing, but Wii HD would be a ridiculously awful idea. Either way, Nintendo doesn't have a reason to put out a new console yet. Not in response to Sony's Move and Project Natal, at least.
I will, h...
There are so many ways I can agree with this. xD
When I buy a used game that doesn't have the game manual. I'm gonna miss manuals...
Of course Heroes' Paradise would look better than the original. That should've been obvious the moment it was announced. But, unless it replicates the awesome feeling I got when I sliced/suplex'd enemies...it just wouldn't be as good, to me. It'd be like playing Zach and Wiki on the 360: Even if Capcom would decide to do it, it wouldn't be the same.
Sorry, but even if it does get released stateside, I won't be buying it.
I bought it after that 12 day period. I do have it, though, so you could consider me number 50,001. >.>
Star Fox hasn't been as good in third party hands in my opinion (See: Rare). Then again, Team Ninja's collaboration with Nintendo for Other M seems to be working swimmingly so far...and Miyamoto seems keen on the idea of a Wii Star Fox. Hm...
Also, now I have the image of Iwata, Miyamoto, Sakamoto, and Sakurai bursting into a room, all carrying pistols, stuck in my head. xD Such a weird image.
Because Kirby's Sakurai never got credit for his work. Same with Earthbound's Itoi, Metroid's Sakamoto, and others. They never get credit for their work, it all goes to Miyamoto.
Oh, wait.
Could anyone seriously tell me why anyone cares? All three companies have sold enough to have a reason to stick around next generation, and all three consoles have great games coming out. So, seriously, who cares which company wins some bull-crafted race made by gamers/gaming media, and why do you care so much?
I'm, honestly, quite happy about the sounds of the control setup, and can't wait for the game.
=p That would be horribly bad for gameplay, but it would be oh-so-enjoyable.
^ Pics or GTFO. >.>
Joking aside, Kojima is one of the best videogame developers. I can't wait to see what he has planned in this next title of his.
Well, I stopped listening after you seemed to be done referencing the article(s) that were poorly done at best, and then using those article references as a tool to bash Nintendo.
People spout doom and gloom for the Wii all the time, in articles and comment sections. They're being quite stupid, just like the 'PS360/Sony/Microsoft/Apple/Ni ntendo is doomed!' people, and are honestly more trolling than posting something relevant.
Dooming people are stupid.
EDIT: This is aimed toward Clownbelt, the freakin' reply function screwed up again. >.>
Hurt Apple fanboys taking a stab at a company that doesn't take Apple as seriously as they do, referencing an article that was using pointless figures that can be compared to the PS3/PSP with similar results (It was proven in the comments section of this site, based on the article).
Cry more?
I'd love to be proven wrong, but I have to say he's already made some unstoppably brilliant games. To say he hasn't peaked is one thing, but...well, I can't help but remain skeptically optimistic. After all, it's freakin' Shigeru Miyamoto!
As to Star Fox Wii, I've heard people asking for it more than people have been asking for Kid Icarus Wii. >.> And if Miyamoto wants it, it'll come.
I love the Internet, but the Console War has always caused me to be more a lurker than a poster when it comes to video game-related sites. People get so riled up because of one little comment, and comparisons that are so unbelievably petty are put up as extremely important. It's ridiculous.
But then, c'est l'Internet...
...that all I've heard concerning Conduit 2 is 'We know we made mistakes in The Conduit, and we're going to try to remedy as many of them as we can in the sequel...'
You might not like HVS, but it's obvious that they realize that The Conduit was a lot worse than they wanted it to be. Why try to punish them for trying to improve something?
I'm not saying to blind-buy it day 1, but I see no reason to label it a bad game so quickly. After all, Red Steel 2's predecessor ...
I'm talking about the game industry. History in this industry has shown that the superior tech doesn't necessarily yield the best sales, nor the best attention from the majority. Again, I point to the DS, the NES, the PS2, etc.
