The story and the characterization of Samus came from the group that did Metroid: Fusion. If you don't like the story, fine, but don't blame Team Ninja.
Just sayin'.
*shrug*As long as the controls are responsive and accurate (which most sources say they are)...Skyward Sword mandating motion controls is fine with me. Then again, Red Steel 2, Boom Blox, No More Heroes, and Wii Sports Resort already made motion controls alright in my book. Therefore, I don't think that I'm the kind of person Mr. Smith was aiming for with this article. >.>;
No thanks.
This guy again.
So is Nintendo's still doomed, then? Whatever you say, Pachter.
There are two kinds of 'role playing', and the problem with this article is that it only supports one of the definitions. The D20 definition, if you will, where the character is crafted by the player.
There is a second definition, which I would call the theatrical definition. You play the role of a character, as he goes through a story written by a playwright. This fits the literal use of the combination of the words used in the term, and fits into many (if not all) ...
I bought the game, beat it, and haven't touched it since. The controls are good, but the gameplay just isn't interesting enough to get me to replay it. The fact that it didn't have multiplayer didn't help matters, I'm sure.
This is just one of those games that would be a rent-heavy game to everyone but die-hard fans of the IP (Are there any die-hard Red Steel fans? xDD), people with tons of cash (in a recession. >.>), and people that are stupid and d...
I'm sure that there will be a few games that could surpass all five.
Because he was totally talking about the interference during Miyamoto's demo, and not something completely different. Good job reading the article...
Pokemon is one of the most popular videogame franchises. xD There are regional and national tournaments for Pokemon players to compete in. It's arguably more popular than any other RPG franchise.
Pokemon Black and White are gonna sell like hotcakes when they release. I'm absolutely certain of this. xD
Duh. Nintendo has always had dominance in the Handheld market. This, honestly, is unlikely to change anytime soon.
As for the console side of things...I honestly don't know. Considering what we saw this generation from Nintendo...I honestly have no idea what they're going to do next generation, or how successful it will be. But, as long as they stick to making games that are at least of the quality I've had the pleasure of enjoying throughout my life thus far...th...
They have two guys working on it! So much focus on trying to make sure the online works in time, really.
Epic Mickey was a epic fail
...I feel like I shouldn't bother asking, but how was it an 'epic fail'?
It looks so good. =D And, like the SpoonyRedMage said, they wouldn't be openly proclaiming the status update like so if it were negative.*shrug*
I read the article. All six pages. I wasn't disagreeing with them, I was stating what I always say when people ask me why third-party Wii titles 'always fail', even though, again, that is a hyperbole-instilled statement.
You're being stupid. A game isn't 'cutesy' just because it has a vibrant art style that isn't trying too hard to be grim-and-gritty. It's not black-and-white like that. A beautiful, mature (A word that's almost as misdefined in the video game industry as hardcore) game can arise from a naturally unrealistic art style, and you'd be a fool to disagree with that.
I can give a simple answer to NowGamer's hyperbole-instilled article title.
Third-party developed Wii games sucked initially, leading consumers to have a negative view of third-party developers. At the same time, Nintendo was consistently making solid games, thus instilling consumers with confidence in Nintendo software. There were third-party gems, but for every 1 decent/acceptable third-party game, there were 10 bad ones. Consumer confidence is the best way to obtain co...
Realism is an art style, not the only acceptable one. I enjoy the art style of Skyward Sword, and Zelda shouldn't be confined to the same art style numerous developers seem to be obsessed with.
Also, realism =/= maturity. Just like having an M rating doesn't mean a game is actually mature.
They're both solid games, and one got more because it was out for a longer period of time. That's a sensible conclusion most people probably already came to long before actually hearing the numbers...
Nintendo made shovelware and ignored the core gamer? That's news to me.
How odd, considering that her main complaint is that they gave Samus emotions. >.>
