Achievements and HD resolution are not a big deal to me personally. Online is a problem, but Monster Hunter Tri shows that the Wii can have a game with good online. I know that motion controls aren't for everyone, and that's fine. As for the tiring of Nintendo characters...that's another dividing line between myself and the author. I've honestly viewed Nintendo characters as a breath of fresh air in this obsessively-M-Rated game generation. There are exceptions, obviously, but...
That aside, how do you know what was sacrificed? How could you possibly claim that you have any idea what goes through the minds of anyone other than yourself?
What if they decided initially that the story was better suited to use the Mario planet instead of a normal Hub? Heck, maybe he's searching the Universe for someone (Bowser, mayhaps?), and is going from Galaxy to Galaxy on that giant cranium-planet. Wait...that's exactly what it looks like he's doing. =/
Project HAMMER was officially cancelled, if I recall correctly. None of the others have been, yet.
...I want Kirby Wii. T_T
Just like the original DS's relationship to the GBA, it'll have backwards compatibility with DS games. But, it is a different system than the DS series (DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSiXL).
I'm fairly excited.
The 3DS isn't an actual DS. That's just the project name. It was even specified that the 3DS is 'The Successor to the DS Series,' or something to that extent.
An article with a changed title.
Why would I even comment on an article with the title 'Playstation MOVE Hands-on' in the first place? I'm a Wii gamer. I avoid articles unless they directly involve my system of preference. The only reason I would would be if it had a different title when I commented, like...oh, I dunno...'How the Playstation MOVE is better than the Wii'.
Hearing Reggie repeat the 'No plans to release an HD upgrade' statement that has been said a couple of times would make my day, just because of how many people are so obsessed with wanting an HD upgrade.
Obviously, who 'wins' E3 is so heavily subjective that it's funny. So, to make me truly happy, personally, Nintendo would have to these four things:
1. Zelda Wii footage (obv)
2. Pikmin 3 footage (Not so obvious, but still highly possible)
3. Kid Icarus W...
Insert Sony-worship comment here? =/ What a flamebait article...
I'm sorry for presenting things from my own perspective: It's the only one I've got. I'll make sure that, the next time I see you commenting on something solely from your perspective without making it eye-bleedingly obvious, I'll let you know.
I said it irritates me when people are so competitive about a fanservice game like Brawl or Mario Kart. I never once said they were wrong. Don't put words into my mouth.
As for the 'not having fun' thing, I was speaking purely from my perspective. My perspective equates competition and fun as almost polar opposites. If that's not your perspective, than that much should have been obvious when you first read what I wrote. If you view competition as fun, then that's your call. I don...
Why I said we wouldn't see eye to eye. It's obvious that you view competition as your version of fun. I don't. Thus, we won't see eye to eye.
I play the game for fun, not for competition. I play games that were made ground-up to BE COMPETITIVE for competition, not a for-fun fanservice game like Brawl or Mario Kart.
I guess we'll never see eye to eye on that, though, so...oh well.
And I agree completely. I have two friends that hate playing on anything but Final Destination with no items, and it pisses me off to no end.
Smash Bros. isn't a traditional fighting game, and I'm tired of people trying to make it a traditional fighting game. The game lets you blast off a giant turtle and an alien that controls little plants with a racecar driver, while a mouse waits to zap you off right after. It's meant to be FUN. WEIRD. Not traditional.
If it fails in the U.S., then it fails in the U.S. Somehow, though, I don't think it will. I mean, it's an honestly great effort put into a game, ground-up made for the Wii, and not sent out quietly to die or sandwiched within three/four other major releases? Heck, it would surprise me if it were to fail.
They just didn't want Super Mario Galaxy 2 to overshadow Metroid and Sin and Punishment. At least, that's what makes sense from my perspective.
Think about it, all three titles were being released in around a month's time. Recently Monster Hunter Tri was released. Nintendo is probably just spreading out their releases, and giving each the time to shine.
You asked for us to list some fresh, new ideas for IPs that Nintendo had a hand in. And I would heavily disagree with any notion that Pikmin and Chibi-Robo weren't new experiences for gaming, or that they 'attracted a more casual crowd'. Animal Crossing is debatable in the latter, Advance Wars/Battalion Wars/Xenoblade in the former.
And now you're saying that, instead of wanting Nintendo to make new, interesting IPs, for them to continue old IPs? Sir, I'm starting to think you do...
...*crickets chirping*
...So...is it that all the articles that the anti-Wii trolls flock to are also under 'Xbox360' and 'PS3', or is it that they don't want proof of being wrong about at least one of the third parties 'leaving the Wii in droves'? Purely for the sake of clarification...
Pikmin, Animal Crossing, and Chibi-Robo were pretty cool. Advanced Wars and Battalion Wars, too. And I heard Monolith Soft is a first party developer under Nintendo, so we can put down Disaster: Day of Crisis and the upcoming Xenoblade too, non?
And, so you're saying that Nintendo doesn't support and advertise the crap out of games that they aren't publishing? Shocking.
I must've stepped into a time machine, and went back to 2007 to see an article with this kind of title. xD
Geez. Is this going to happen every time Kirby shows up on the report of upcoming games? He's been TBA for a couple years now. I won't believe anything Kirby Wii until I am holding the game in my hands. And, if it is real, it will be in my hands on the first day.
