@donthate
In 12 years they've done maybe 1 or 2 things to support PC gaming. The rest has been to hinder PC gaming like G4WL and Windows 8.
Windows 7 and Windows 10 were the 2 things and you think that's good enough?
The only reason people are moving Windows 10 is because it's free otherwise it would be a slow adoption rate like Windows 8 was.
DX12 supports their console as well so it's not all for PC gaming e...
Already backed this. Can't wait for it to develop into an amazing experience and game.
I'm sorry but Microsoft doesn't have that much pull among developers. They pay them off. That's the only thing MS understands.
They can try and compete with Steam but they will fail like they did last time with Game for Windows Live.
They haven't done a damn thing for PC gaming since they launched the Xbox a decade ago and now they are trying to claw their way back into PC gaming via Windows 10.
Not going to happen. DX12 is a ...
Most of these games were coming to PC anyway so not sure why Microsoft is taking credit for the rise of PC gaming which they had nothing to do with.
I want to see Microsoft walk the walk not talk the talk like they normally do.
I love how they advertise Minecraft and Solitaire. Both of these games have been on PC for years.
I wonder if the Xbox will be able handle these early builds as they require more power and resources than the finished products to run due to lack of optimisations and the myriad of bugs in the unfinished games.
People complain about Steam Early Access games when they can't run them on their PCs. I guess the same will happen with Xbox gamers too.
It's not all rainbows and unicorns testing alpha and beta games. They could crash your systems and brick t...

And PC gamers are supposedly all pirates :P
I'm hoping the rumour isn't true as I don't want another arrogant and greedy developer like Bungie making games for the PC platform we got enough of those with WB Games and Ubisoft.
I've already tried the beta on my PS3 and the game is so generic and gives most Korean MMO grinds a run for their money.
I will definitely not be buying Destiny on PC. We got better games to play.
It's an online game. No one can pirate it so please STFU.
Btw do Xbox gamers pirate their games as they don't make as much money for publishers than PS4 and PC.
Currently playing ARK on PC. Really good game and keeps on getting better with every patch.
So many creatures have been added so far. Most recently is the Direwolf :)
The developers are so involved with the community and listen to our feedback. Best Early Access game to date on steam.
We get MGS5 for PC on same day as consoles. We just don't get Metal Gear Online the same day.
I was never interested in MGO anyway so I couldn't give a crap if it never comes out.
Steam isn't cheap for any new AAA games in EU/UK. Only US dollars pricing has stayed the same.
For instance MGS5 on steam is £46 (~$72). The Witcher 3 is £50 (~$78). Same with Fallout 4 and Anno 2205, AC:S and many more titles.
Steam is only cheaper when the sales are on or if you live in US or Russia.
This is why I shop elsewhere and get my games for £25 or less. I refuse to pay £50 for one game. If a time came that t...
It took developers a while to develop with DX11 I'm hoping they adopt DX12 a bit faster than the other APIs.
I know ARK and Fable Legends will be DX 12 compatible and both are getting the update end of this year.
You realise you're being controlled by the gaming media and console creators to believe that right? :)
Wake up it's all about short term profits. They are all in it together. Making money and telling you what you want to hear.
So sad.
@q8kik
What you don't seem to get is PC game sales sell over the long term not short term like they do on consoles.
Witcher 3 PC sales will surpass console sales over the next year while consoles will have moved onto to something more "shiny" and then you'll be comparing that.
PC platform has hundreds of games coming out every month we don't put all our eggs in one basket as there is so much choice out there.

@BubbsyKong
Microsoft isn't replacing the steam machine as there is nothing to replace yet. They still have to prove themselves to PC gamers that they actually want to support the PC platform instead of trying to force us to use the Xbox Live crap on Windows 10. (I've already removed the Xbox app on my PC).
DayZ and ARK are still PC exclusives till they launch on consoles sometime next year. You do realise that PS4 are getting these games too right? ...
I didn't think the Tomb Raider fans were on Xbox consoles. They were more on PC and PS platforms.
I loved the TR reboot on PC but I'd choose Fallout 4 over TR any day. Thankfully I don't have to make that decision as Microsoft made sure of that.
I just can't see RotTR doing that well in sales as it's surrounded by massive titles that appeals to all gamers.
If I was Square-Enix I'd be worried.
Why do developers always insist on parity?
It's obvious that id software have lost their way and don't have a fking clue what PC platform is all about now.
It'll be modded without your tools whether you like it or not id software/Bethesda.
Erm no.
Direct X 12 is already released. DX12 games are out later this year but the API is already installed on Windows 10 PCs.
If you run dxdiag it says in black and white that Direct X 12 is the Direct X version installed.
@Xbonewone32015
It's obvious you have no idea about PC gaming and the hundreds of exclusives it has.
Just because a game doesn't have a multi million dollar marketing campaign behind it doesn't mean it isn't exclusive.
You stick with your 900p 30fps blockbuster multiplatform titles and I'll play great, original exclusive games on PC :)
Well Microsoft had nothing to do with Ryse on Steam. Crytek self published it :)
Spartan Assault was a mobile game to placate PC gamers asking for Halo but the other 2 were pretty good platformers especially Ori.
As long as Steam works on Windows, Microsoft can't compete so they might as well support them.
