What happened to digital games being cheaper than boxed copies from stores?
As soon as digital started that is when the price gouging started and games became more expensive not less.
We were all conned by the publishers.
$70/£60 for any game is too expensive. This is why I will not pay £60 for any game.
I will be passing on Diablo 4 and many other games if I can't find a good price for them. £35-40...
Microsoft isn't going anywhere. They just this last week invested in a UK AI start-up company.
They have too much invested in the UK market to just walk away. Besides the UK is a massive market for Xbox and their future gaming division.
it would be a massive loss to them. Something their shareholders would not take too kindly to.
Now we know why Kotick and MS are desperate for the deal to go through.
We also know why MS and Kotick had a hissy fit at the UK independent CMA when they blocked the desl.
Just follow the money...
It was full of "yes men" and they didn't want to annoy their boss so they blew smoke up his backside instead.
No wonder MS was shocked at the real world reviews from critics and customers. They were still in their little circle jerk bubble thinking Redfall was the bees knees when it was everything but.
Bethesda will be a first-party studio. Is Sony going to offer The Last of Us or Uncharted to be released on the Xbox? No, I didn't think so.
Stop whining Sony. You've bought many 3rd party developer studios in the past and made their games exclusive to PlayStation.
Should the regulators look into Sony's acquisitions too?
Generally, PC gamers spend more on their machines than console gamers.
That would make the console gamers the peasants, not the PC gamers.
How'd you like being the console peasant that you are?
I know Wild Hearts doesn't run that well on PC or console. The same with Hogwarts Legacy. This has nothing to do with the PC but just lazy developers as usual.
The consoles aren't so why should the PC platform?
Well the PS5 is struggling turning on RT in a massive open world. These "next gen" consoles have their limitations. They are a complete AMD system that isn't as advanced as nvidia when it comes to RT.
What did you expect from a $500/£450 machine?
RT is a gimmick and shouldn't be used if the gameplay is compromised. It doesn't add anything to gameplay.
No game is worth $70 or whatever the price is in each country especially these days when publishers would rather release a buggy game and patch after the fact.
Gaming is a luxury hobby. If you don't need the game right now then wait for a sale.
A game is only worth what the customer is willing to pay.
What a load of crap. I'm a PC gamer and I love games like Uncharted 4. I did buy it on PC but I wouldn't have if I hadn't played the first 3 games in the series on PS3 first. A friend of mine didn't buy it as he hadn't played the first 3 games so wasn't going to buy the 4th in the series of a story driven series without playing those first.
That is the real reason that Uncharted 4 didn't sell as well as God of War or Horizon on PC.
On PC we have hundreds of games coming out on a monthly basis. We can't buy them all. We have to choose which ones we want to play now and the rest go on the backlog.
Sackboy wasn't exactly an expected release. It just came out with little marketing so don't expect it to do well on PC especially when there are better titles to play right now.
I had a blast when I played it on PC. The game should have been released on PC first and then on the new consoles a few months later when they launched.
CDPR is a PC developer after all.
It should not have come out on the previous console gen as they weren't powerful enough to run it and never will be. This took away a lot of development time and resources from the PC version that could have been used to further polish the game up to launch.
Bethesda games are always put across as having this amazing tech with flashy graphics and stunning vista. And then you play their games...
The reason Bethesda games have a long shelf life is due to the modding community, especially on PC.
I'm looking forward to the game but their games are never what it says it's going to be on the tin. Fallout 76 for instance.
No Man's Sky was an astonishing feat of programming from a small...
The remake makes a lot of sense when it's launching on PC. I suspect Part 2 is coming to PC as well so both parts will look as good as each other.
I can't wait to play both games on PC.
You need to come to terms with the fact the PC platform is not in competition with any console including Playstation.
It is a complementary platform to the consoles and is a way to make more money for the console makers 1-2 years later for their games.
You haven't lost the exclusivity to the PS but Sony has gained a new revenue stream to help create better games in the future.
Sony investing in Epic was for the fabled "metaverse", not PC gaming. Sony did buy Nixxes to port PS games to PC so we should hear something from them very soon.
Uncharted 4 was meant to be coming to PC this year but we've heard nothing since the announcement last year.
I was hoping for more Ghost of Tsushima news but Sony has been very quiet on that too.
Yup at this point I don't care one way or another for Star Citizen. I backed the Kickstarter campaign in 2012 for $30 but it shows no sign of being released.
Why would the developers want it released when they get millions in backer funding each month from gullible people?
I've moved on. I'm more looking forward to Everspace 2 and Starfield at this point.
Release, don't release. I don't really care now. It's pret...
Forspoken is the first Square-Enix games to have the £65/$70/€80 price point and they still want more money with MTs.
Their greed knows no bounds.
A wait and see game for me. I'll wait for 50% off at least.
Poor ports are nothing to do with PC gamers.
This is about publishers wanting a cash grab for a premium price for a 2 year old game.
FFVII Remake is £10-15 more expensive than any game on the PC market.
So much for cheaper games on Epic Games Store due to the lower cut. It was always a marketing ploy by Epic trying to get people to their store. They failed.
Most people visit their store for the free games and lea...
As of today's patch on PC they are adjusting enemy density.
From patch notes -
"Today as a means of helping with enemy density, we're improving our 'leashing' system, further limiting how far enemies will pursue players from their spawn point. This helps prevent large crowds of enemies from relentlessly pursuing the player when rushing through a level.
We aim to have further refinements in Thursday’s patch, including reducing...
